Can jab with a weapon in hand but not punch. . .i think you should be able to do both or neither. . .i know its a minor thing but just posting anyways
>You draw forth a blackened metal pulse gun with chrome accents and laser sighting from your black belt-holster.
jab spir
>Focused intently, you throw a quick jab at an impish spirit. With little resistance, you land a fair hit to his left eye as an impish spirit fails to dodge the attack.

>punch
You can't punch with a blackened metal pulse gun with chrome accents and laser sighting in your hand. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

Fixed, punches of all type may no longer be used with a weapon in hand. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

The only thing with this is that if you have a dagger in your hand you cant jab a critter, and with daggers or such jab would be more effective than slash irl that is of course. So as it stands the only thing you can really do with a dagger is slash or thrust. Maybe we need a stab to be used with bladed weapons since alot of people use jab as an unarmed. That way we can poke the critters to death _________________ Thissa Armistead |

Jab never has been an armed attack in Hael. Not that I'm against an armed version (I'm quite for it -- it's just a matter of time, and the fact we're devving a whole new version of the game), but it hasn't been to date so it's not as if this is now "broken" -- it never was. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Is it supposed to stop you only if you're holding a weapon? I can spearhand just fine while holding a strongbox. |

in cqb, they taught us if you can have something solid in your hand when you punch/jab, then its better. makes the impact more solid. and can do it with a weapon, called a buttstroke. smack them with the grip of the weapon *pistol* or the stock/butt of the rifle. even best if you have a trench knife,,,knife with brass knuckles on the hilt, usualy 12" long. |

Well, yeah, holding some things could make a punch stronger. But, I mean, it wouldn't work if you're holding something like a suit of armor (which I picture being held under the arm). And, like I said before, it'd be a serious pain to give every item a new value that defines whether it can be held while punching or not.

That'd do blunt damage, though. You can do it in HR, just bash instead of jab/punch. |

It's difficult for us to gauge out well what kind of weapon you're using to very finite detail. For instance, what you're saying is true, but what if I was holding a heavy battleaxe? Jabbing like that would be impossible (jabbing the hand that is, jabbing the axe itself would be possible but that's an armed attack).
It is possible for us to differentiate to this level, but it's sort of a messy proposition, which is probably why it hasn't been done. It requires maintenance on all such attacks every time you add new weapons. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
