Schematic knowledge will now deteriorate. Also, non-techs' gadget component repair knowledge will deteriorate faster (on average) than techs' knowledge.

Major update.. Three gadget schematics are available in the Llanfair Tech Workshop: Communicators, Flashlights, and Droidlights. They're harder to read and take a lot longer to study than the repair manuals, so be warned. Also, ONLY TECHS CAN READ THEM. So no one goes out and buys one and then realizes they're not a tech, then wants their money back... no refunds will be issued.

Rio Ceres is available in the Llanfair Tech Workshop to refill supplies on empty or partially empty tool supply containers.

The ability to repair gadget parts should be in tomorrow night. You'll need to research repair manuals in order to be able to repair each type of part. This should give you guys something to do while you wait.

You'll definately be able to sell them, both to a pawn shop and hopefully to other players who might want them.

The first set of gadgets is nearly complete. Gadget components for the first set are finished and you might see them in the treasure systems before you're actually allowed to make anything with them.

Techs can HACK their droids to improve various aspects of their droid. Right now, just technical, combat and espionage abilities can be improved, more may come later.

Droids, like spirit servants, now have a small chance of... opening?... a box that's in their hands. Be careful if it ever happens though.

The REPAIR verb is also updated to show schematic knowledge. I thought about putting that onto the ASSEMBLE verb, but it's nice having it all in one spot.
The gadgets are able to be fully assembled. Some part sizes will matter; if you use a certain size part in one area of the gadget (like a large bulb socket), you'll have to use a large reflector and large light bulb. Tech-made comms have a special feature.. you'll find out when you make them.
Just thought I'd mention, gadget DISASSEMBLY is not active yet. Any parts you use now will be stuck until I finish disassembly.
Just ASK RIO ABOUT SUPPLIES.
You'll not only be able to make the parts' quality better, but increase their pawn value as well.
When I mentioned the treasure system, I didn't just mean hunting.. you'll probably be able to find them in the chests you snag while fishing, and while excavating as well (though the items many hot be very high quality, for various reasons). Purchasing components via shops might be possible, but it'd significantly reduce their uniqueness. For now, I think what'll be found in the treasure system will be enough, since there'll be a lot of non-techs finding components that would be happy to sell them to techs in need of them.
Exception: sensitive components such as high quality circuitboards and transmitters/receivers will be sold through shops instead of being found in treasure, for obvious reasons.
In order to make any kind of gadget, you'll first be required to research that gadget. You'll probably be required to read the pamphlet a few times over the course of a few hours - once you start reading a pamphlet, it's yours, and no one else can use it. Now you just need some parts to make the gadget with right?
Gadget components will come in different grades: crappy, normal, and high quality. You'll be able to find pamphlets which (once you read them) will allow you to fix, repair or enhance the quality of the components you find. You'll obviously need a location to play with components at, so expect something like the alchemy labs.
Once you make a gadget, you will be able to disassemble it into its original components! This makes mixing and matching kinda fun, and necessary if you want to upgrade your stuff.
This first batch will be a few fluff items, so don't expect anything crazy just yet. I'll monitor how things are going with these, then add more stuff to the mix as time goes on. Expect to start working on things within the next week or two.
There is a cap to how high you can increase the abilities, and a floor in case you fail too much. Hacking will also add to your NSKILLS, yay.
