> NOW ACCESSING 'GADGETS: PARTS AND QUALITIES'...
Any given part could be high, above average, average, lower than average or low quality. The suitability for a part to be a component ranges from poor, OK, good, great, or perfect. You can find parts by hunting and by salvaging parts from mechanical creatures.
Plastic Chips. Use: Communicators
You can not repair these...after all, they're just tiny bits of plastic. You CAN, however, repair them. Quality and suitablity change drastically between parts, but usually square, round and sleek plastic chips are high quality and average to perfect in suitablity.
Blub Sockets. Use: Flashlights, droidlights
Bulb sockets come in three sizes, small, large, and average sized (which are just 'bulb socket's). These tend to all be better quality parts, though on occation you will find broken sockets. Generally, anything broken is of lower-than-average and low quality, even if you fix them.
Coils. Use: Flashlights, droidlights
Coils come in copper, reinforced copper, and rusty. Rusty are the lowest quality you can get.
Tubes. Use: Flashlights
Tubes and pipes are basically the same thing. The best tubes are copper, short, and iron. Shoddy and pitted tubes are obviously on the lower end of the scale.
Reflectors. Flashlights, droidlights
Reflectors, like sockets, come in three sizes. However, there are more types. As a general rule, the BEST refectors, reguardless of size, are parabolic reflectors. Nicked, cracked, scratched, and so on are lower in quality.
Switches. Flashlights, droidlights, communicators
Switches have a lot of variety, though most of them are on the bad end. The best switches to use are on/off switches. However, because you need to use switches for all current gadgets, it's best to hold onto ALL of them. I always have the problem of running out.
Pipes. Use: Flashlights
See tubes. They follow the same guidelines.
Fuze kits. Use: Unknown
As of right now, we can't use fuze kits for anything. Fuze kits are for starting detonations...which means we can expect cool things from them soon! Shoddy and opened fuze kits are poor quality, but just regular 'fuze kits' are high.
Casing. Use: Communicators, droidlights
Casing. There are a TON of casing. When you make a gadget, the type of casing you use shows up in the tap (same with tubes and pipes for flashlights.) Good quality casings are camoflauge, polished, etched, steel, and metal. Obviously, punctured, dented, stained and so on are poor quality. Because there are so many casing types, they come up while hunting and salvaging a great deal.
Circuitboards. Use: Communicators
Like casings, there are a ton of circuitboards and they show up the most frequently of all. Because they are currently only used in one gadget, just keep the high quality ones like hardened and pristine. Fractured, dusty, and broken are low quality and can't be repaired to be much better.
Glass. Use: Flashlights, droidlights, communicators
Glass is extremely useful. You'll need it for all your gadgets. Just remember that BROKEN glass is for errands only and not for gadgets! The best kind of glass is polished and burnished. There is also cracked, nicked, shattered, and so on. Because you can re-melt glass in the workshop, you can raise the quality pretty nicely.
Transmitters. Use: communicators
Transmitters can be found, or bought in the tech workshop. Strong transmitters are the best.
Recievers. Use: communicators
Recievers can be bought in the tech shop too. Again, the strong recievers are the best.
Wires. Use: Droidlights
Wires can be found in the tech shop too. As I've only found frayed wires on critters and through salvaging, I'd say it's your best bet to buy one.
