How about the ability to modify weapon cores? Change any core into any other core. Or perhaps even modify a weapon to accept a core it wasn't designed for? There'd always be a chance it'd blow up in our faces, of course....
Not that we need cores all that often....

Ok, I know that we also got installation of scopes onto firearms. The idea of "Creating" things that only we could make. I don't agree with it. I could agree that if we learned to make a range of items there COULD be one or two items that only we could make, but not a whole range. I personally, would like to work more on the idea that not just anyone can go blindfolded behind a computer, and by feel alone, plug almost everything back there back into the back of a computer. *Yes, I can do that IRL.* Not that I would make that a requisite IG, but it IS our real skill. How to use them? I don't know, the only real thing that comes to my mind, is a House bonus creation system, like the shrines. Only this would be completely tech based. I personally play a non magical character. So, I guess what I am really trying to say, is let's not get something we can build, so much as something we can do, that would help the other professions of HR, and make us inseperable from them. |

That sounds almost exactly like the idea I already proposed...but no one ever replied to that topic. |

I definately want to create more then just repair. If I had a choice, I'd create over repair. |

Except for the making new power cores and repairing cracked ones. |

I'm not that educated, just in the technical department. But, tell me one thing that ONLY one profession can make. Shrines, but those are also dependant on another profession. I hadn't really thought about us being Machinists, though I suppose that's possible. As far as making Comm's or medical equipment, are we going to be replacing the Alterers? |

I am still rather new, and probably way off base, but it's been my impression from day one here that the ultimate goal of this game (way down the line) is that players will be the suppliers of everything...ie, very few to no npc's and maybe few to no non-player owned shops. Like I said, Im probably way way off, but it does seem to be the direction the game is going in. _________________ Dregonard Lefear offers a voodoo shrunken Arakaweii head to you.

It's like everything else. There will always be store bought junk. But if you want the really excellent stuff, you go to a gal or guy that can make above average, cooler, better stuff. That's the way the world works. |

Excuse me for butting in but what about electrical kits for installing electrical details into what some of the Artisan's make? For instance; musical jewelry boxes, lamp guts? (for want of a better term), mechanical or electrical means for entrances to homes/shops when implemented, etc.

*.* That sounds like so much fun! I'm all for profession partnership.
Hehe. I bought some wax. I want to catch some wasps and make a factory ala Ian Banks. |

How about security systems and locking mechanisms too, not just for homes, might need one for other reasons? Although I can't think of one off the top of my head. Might be stepping on Agents toes a bit but perhaps it might be something you both can do? Just a thought.

Nah, if there's wiring and electronics involved, it's our business. It's their buisness to break in past them. |

A few comments...
1. I know for certain that under current systems, only Trackers can tailor caches. there may also be other player created items which are limited to one profession...ask around. Future systems - I definitely have plans for Medics (only) to be able to make medicines.
2. Medical equipment. I have every intention of working with Drake and setting up existing equipment to be repaired by properly skilled technicians. I can't promise this tomorrow, we haven't even begun working on it, but it is something we have discussed and we want to do. As for Techs creating medical equipment, that is another thing I'd like done, but I don't see it happening for a while. It's definitely on my 'want to do' list, but not on my first priorities list. _________________ Counselor Faith Tempest
