|
|
Changes to how medical devices work:
7/11/03
Regenerators:
- Amount of damage possible for a dropped regenerator is now 1/4th of the previous amount
- Now only a 1 in 5 chance of dropping a regenerator
- A couple of new *surprises*. Have fun discovering them!
Dermagel:
- There is now a RT associated with applying.
- Dermagel was giving 10x the experience intended, this has now been fixed.
7/16/03
Dermaplaz:
- A bug which caused dermaplaz to only be used once has been fixed. You will now notice that one tube of dermaplaz lasts longer than one bandage.
7/22/03
Regenerators:
- Fixed some gramatically screwy messaging
- Added cyberware checks for "bad rolls"
Dermagel:
- Dermagel usage is now skill dependant, most non-medics will find it much less powerful that it was before.
8/7/03
Regenerators:
- Changing messaging so that you will no longer get the completely healed message if the wound is not completely healed.
- Hidden players can no longer be healed.
- Fixed a bug where the regenerators were saying they were healing but in fact were not.
Emitters:
- Changing messaging similar to regenerators.
- Hidden players can no longer be healed.
Massage:
- Target will no longer recieve a rosy skin color. Color will depend on skin tone. _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting"

Is the 1/5 chance of dropping the regenerator, just period or before taking in other facotrs (if so what stats and what kind of numbers would you need to have a very insignificant chance of dropping) |

It takes into effect Coordination, Medic Health, Electronics, and Damage already on the device.
With my stats set at 0 for everything, and a measly 7 in coordination, with about 5 different scuffs, i was seeing a "bad roll" effect occur about every 4-5 times.
The chance of actually dropping the regenerator is 1 in 5 on any "bad roll" and can only result in a maximum of 25% damage to the device _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

So if you could...what do you think my chances are if I had 15 coordination, 9 electronics, and was perfectly healthy....=d, I understand if you don't feel like it, but I'm just asking because I don't want to spend another 1k until I'm ready to use it. |

Ok using the stats you requested, I recieved a bad roll 6 out of 20 times, but at no time did I drop it. _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

[suggestion]
I think that bioscanners should tell you if dermagel is currently healing a wound so that you can tell whether you can apply more yet or if its still healing.

Couple of quick questions, which skill is dermagel and dermaplaz fall under, firstaid or medicine? And truthfully at this point this drastic of a change is hindering for everyone, judging by the way that dermagel is working for me I don see how if I am close to dying from a good hit I would be able to survive to find a medic or reach the hospital even as fast as I run.. Might you be able to reconsider how drastic of a change it is? Especially with the bug still hitting. I agree with the medicines and such being more effective for medics and that, but having to use a full jumbo bottle of dermagel to get a wound from bruised to slightly scraped is just more then a little rough on the pocketbooks. _________________ One must have knowledge beyond learning, and wisdom beyond understanding to say what can or cannot be. |

I'd like to second this, even with some first aid skill dermagel is now virtually useless. Medics should be the best, but a dozen applications to heal a scuff for the rest of seems pretty harsh. It's the simplest procedure, after all.

Dermagel is now *slightly* more potent, but to offset this change, the delay between pulses is now greater.
Also, to beable to use dermagel properly, you should consider training First Aid and/or Medicine.

The change did not effect dermaplaz, and you should not loose vitality from non-bleeding wounds, and since dermagel does little but make bleeding wounds worse, I don't fully understand your arguement here. _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

After working with it a bit it seems to be a very reasonable compromise, thanks

I had meant with dermaplaz and bleeding wounds not sure if the changed had affected them as well.. Thank you Jocelyn. _________________ One must have knowledge beyond learning, and wisdom beyond understanding to say what can or cannot be. |

Maybe I just can't find it, but where is the place to train medical skills?
