Non-Artisan Quality

Okay, so a friend of mine, who is a techie, with no trained art skills at all, and only slightly higher stats than my trained artisan is making better quality pottery than I am.

I don't know about the rest of you, but that just seems really really wrong to me. I know stats play a part of it, but he only has 1-2 points more than me in coordination, mentality, and perception, and NO sculpting skill at all, and he makes mediocre and ordinary quality, where the best I can get is dented.

Please, someone tell me this isn't how it's supposed to be.

Arden and I were discussing this issue and the stats are not weighed heavily. Skill is by far more dominant. However, there is a random roll and it must be assumed you just got poor rolls by comparison. I feel confident that you'll notice a very appreciable level of workmanship above lesser trained, non-Artisan peers as your skill increases.

Thank you though. It's good to know that I'll one day make the Ultimate Pottery Ashtray Weapon of DOOM mk II better than any non-artisan.

I'm still gonna lobby for us to make sporks though.
