So we're able to create droids for various things, use pulse weapons, repair things.
I'm sure you have a good beginning on other things Techs can create.
Here's a quick list I came up with while typing if you needed more ideas or not 
land, air and water based vehicles.
a language translator.
holographic units.
visual sensors <ultraviolet rays, gamma rays, xrays, etc.>.
hearing sensors <maybe like a little flying bug that you can manuever perhaps at some distance and pick up sound>.
Just a small portion of things i'm sure you and others have and will come up with.

Here are some Items I like to see Technicians be able make.
1) Programmable Hair Upgrade
Have your hair replaced with Hair-Like Fiber Optic weave. Replace you scalp with a photoemission and photoabsorption cell mesh. When not in use the hair takes on a blonde apperance. Otherwise Change hair color to what ever you want.
2) Chameleon Skin Upgrade
a more advanced photoemission,photoabsorption and photoreception cells. The photoabsorption cells harness light to help power the unit. the photoreceptors act as an image-capturing device. The image that is captured from the near by surroundings is processed by the interface module and then projected on diametrically photoemission cells.
3) Motion Detector
Helpful in finding people in hiding or using the Chameleon skin upgrade.
4) Chemical Analyzer (Eye Upgrade)
This unit displays the chemical composition of any specified object in the room.
5) LockHand Upgrade
This Upgrade requires the replacement of the hand and part of the forearm. A full set of insulated lockpicks are stored in a recessed compartment within the arm. Each pick can be fitted onto the figer for ease of use. Sensors along the forearm can give an approximation of the staus of the tumblers in the lock and a LED installed into the back of the hand illuminates when the lock is successfully picked.
6) Retractable Holster Upgrade
Mechanized compartments with fitted holsters can be installed into your replacement limb to open and close at will. Arm replacements could fit pistol-sized or less while leg replacments could fit a weapon up to a sawed-off longarm.
Ok thats enough for now, just thought Id throw in my 2 cents...

All I can tell you is that a couple of those are very similar to some of the planned (or maybe they exist and you just don't know yet...) features of droids, and a couple of those are very possible cyberware innoventions. You won't be disappointed

One thing I've wanted to ask you about droids and have been forgetting to ask is about the giant variety. Can I be Gundam Pilot Gabriel? Or Gigantor Controller Gabriel? What I'm asking is if they're going to be piloted (which would be neat), or controlled like other droids.

Not quite..
Think more along the lines of companion droids, like R2D2 in Star Wars, or if you're twisted, like Bender from Futurama. The range of droids will go from small flying recon droids to massive mini-tank-like droids, all with their own advantages and disadvantages.
I suppose if you Cyberware yourself within an inch of going comatose, you could call yourself a Gundam Warrior.

Side note: The "live" game server has already been set up to allow characters to have more than two hands with which to hold things and such.

Thanks, but I'll probably pass. I think the only figure I have left is the preview one they gave away at Games Day 2001 (and maybe a couple space orks), and I'm not even sure where that is.
