Hi! Um... this may be somewhat presumptuous of me, but I've decided to put together a little website for the game today.

http://www.geocities.com/allianceofminds/

Since I just threw it all together today, it's rather...err...rough and doesn't contain too much info yet, and probably messed up as heck. I plan to add more as I go through my newbie life...

I wondered if I could get everyone's input on what could be improved upon. As well as help me with the accuracy of what I've written, in particular the alchemy and brokerage stuff. Also, I've tried not to yank information from other people's websites. Just wondering if anything I wrote thus far should be credited to anyone.

However, I do plan on expanding what I have. I want to just ask generally if people from the message forums would mind if I used the information they have shared thus far. (I will attempt to properly credit everyone whose information I used of course...)

My plans for the site include:
- Personal opinions of professions, stats and skills in an attempt not to regurgitate what has already been printed on the websites
- Maybe some of my scripts....or err... simplified versions of my scripts, considering mine tend to be darn confusing and complicated.
- Shopping catalog when the game goes live (or maybe before...)

Also...argh. Does anyone know the code for frames so that when they click an outside link, it will go to the new site without my frames staying in the browser window? Or barring that, popping up to a new window? Confused

At the back of my mind is the fear that when the game goes live, everything I will be writing down will be wrong wrong wroooooong and have to be changed!! Hehehehe.

For a new window, in your hyperlink, add target="_blank".

Not sure you are aware of this, but it is listed under NEWS 2 in game:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PLAYER SITE HOSTING.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to start providing web space to players who wish to have a game
site. This is free webspace with no ads, but there are a couple of
restrictions:

- You must run a reasonably helpful site with original content (not just a
copy of the same stuff on the haelrahv.com page!) and maintain it.

- You must use your webspace responsibly. No storing large irrelevant files
like your mp3 collection.

These sites will be on the newly registered haelrahv.net domain, and those who
have sites will have haelrahv.net email they can use with any pop3 email
client like outlook, etc.

If you'd like to take advantage of this, please contact me at
hr-trevor@haelrahv.net (note: .net, not .com).

Just an FYI. Further information can be found on NEWS 85.

Ooh, yeah. I was informed about it.

I had planned on getting a clearer idea of where I'm headed with the website and add more useful information on the site before applying for hosting (which would TOTALLY rock!)

But, I must admit...I'm excited about the thought, but I don't want to go off half-cocked. I have a tendency to not follow through at times, so I want to make sure I have a decent project going first.

Yeah, the Haelrahv hosting is really nice...no popups. ^^

Winddancer, I just checked out your site. It is the most helpful site I have found so far for newbies. Thank you.
