Medics will have the option to TREAT patents in order to get their consent for treatment. The treatment will also propose a cost, which will be automatically debited from the patients coin and added to the medics.
This system may or may not be available at launch. _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

I'm not a big proponent for automatic billing (although my Empath in DR really wants it.. you just have no idea), if this system were to come to fruition, I'd like it be based on skill -and- level. Just because you've been nominated for an award, for your breakthrough research in poisons, doesn't mean you have the skill to treat my broken left arm. Plus, I don't want someone that just learned how to suture a gash in my head to be doing the procedure, really.
Thus, Skill and Level would strike a decent medium, I think. It would reflect that, not only do you not want some goof-head apprentice to put your arm back in its socket correctly, you wouldn't really want some expert in another, completely different field to be doing the procedure.
I don't know; I think my logic is a little cloudy. Hopefully you guys get the point. _________________

My 30th empath sympathizes...why do you think we're getting a billing system? _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

Hmmm, after reading your replies above, change my vote from Option 4 to Option 3.
Not having played an empath I wasn't aware how undervalued empaths/medics are. _________________ ~My Reality Check Bounced~

One thing to remember... unlike empaths, medics CAN hunt for cash if they so desire. _________________ ~Hunter~ |

As a former player of yet another of Crossing's highly under appreciated 30th circle Empaths (may he rest in peace), I'm going with the skill AND level option as well.
Although being able to set your own rates for procedures regardless of either factor, and still have it auto deducted, might be good as well. _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

Hmm, I'm rather fond of the last option actually, sure it has the potential for some abuse, but then again, charging by level doesn't really mean you can heal, now does it? However, only the last option allows you to treat friends without charging them, something you might not wanna do if you're a Medic in a hunting party. _________________ If there is one thing in the world that I know, love conquers all, it trancends time and space, defies all odds, and can bring you back from the darkness, it is the guiding light that helps bring you in from the rough stormy seas of life, and it remains even after you have gone.

I'm sure you can still treat your victims for free if you wanted to, right?

Due to the extreme possibility of abuse for some of the healing devices, there are a few medical procedures that you cannot perform without consent. _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

Can you get consent without actually billing the person's bank account, though? Like..
TREAT <person> <wound type/area/whatever> CHARGE
If "CHARGE" is left off, the procedure is free.
Maybe? _________________

syntax will probably be as follows:
TREAT <patient name> FOR <amount> - if the players are allowed to choose an amount.
OR
TREAT <patient name> CHARGE
TREAT <patient name> FREE - if the amount is calculated by level and skill which, according to poll results it might just be
Either way there will be an option to treat the person free of charge. _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

My humble suggestion:
TREAT <patient name> FOR <amount>
Where <amount> can be as low as 0, but cannot exceed a number based on the Medic's proficiency. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

How would we know what our proficiency is? Is it based on skill or skill and level?

Thats what the poll is trying to figure out
Due to the responses, it looks as if it will be based on level and skill. _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |
