My opinion varies based on the goals:
If the goal is to attract and hook new players, then I lean toward fast levelling at low levels that gradually slows down. 40hours of actual play time ( a week) is allot, IMO, for a casual player. To not advance or make any kind of significant progress in that time seems to me it would discourage some from continuing.
If the goal is to accomodate more hard core gamers, then a tougher startup is warranted.
My vote is to attract more players, get them levelling quickly, get them hooked and interested in the HR environment, then make it harder around level 10. |

I think the bigger your charicter the harder is should be to level up.. of course most people want things yesterday so I am probably not with the majority |
