|
|
We're making some last minute changes to triple-trainable skills for combat. Essentially, not every profession will necessarily be able to triple train Evasion, Parry or Shield per level. Additionally, each profession chooses weapons they wish to be able to triple train in the character manager. For example, a Mage can choose two weapons to triple train, and the rest will be double trainable only. Below is a chart for all professions.
Code: |
3x Weapons Evasion Parry Shield
--------------------------------------------------
Agent 5 3x 3x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Artisan 2 2x 2x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Bureaucrat 2 2x 2x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Guardian 1 (Unarmed) 3x 3x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Mage 2 2x 2x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Medic 2 2x 2x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Mercenary All (9) 3x 3x 3x
--------------------------------------------------
Performer 3 3x 2x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Psionic 2 2x 2x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Technician 3 2x 2x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Tracker 5 3x 3x 2x
--------------------------------------------------
Trooper 6 3x 3x 3x
-------------------------------------------------- |
Note: This means Psionics need a change to their core skills, as they included Evasion. I have decided to change two skills in their core list, after a bit of thought. Formerly Psionics had core skills of Evasion, Occult Lore, Psionics and Research. Now they have Intimidation, Occult Lore, Persuasion and Psionics. These changes reflect skills more likely to used by the profession on the whole. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

It's just my opinion and it will probably not change as this is a RPG and fantastic feats can and do happen that defy logic but....any chance that unarmed combat can be made useless if a shield is used? I mean it's not possible to use fists when using a shield, someone that tries to use many of punch type moves with a shield would be near impossible as hands are made to be used together in fist fights.
Just my opinion
thanks

It's theoretically possible and I will consider it. If you're specifically gearing that question to Guardians though, they can't use shields, or any armor or weapons. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Only if you were using some kind of huge damn shield. And even then, you just move it the side when you punch or whatever else with the other hand. For normal sized through small shields (especially buckler like ones, ones that strap onto the side of your arm), this would be not a problem, plus kicking and punching with the hand not holding the shield hurts just fine.
Then there is shield bashing... _________________ Dragoonseal |

And there was much rejoicing.. from me.

I'm still waiting for DR to implement this ability they've been claiming to have (or soon have) for years...
I'm sure we'll have some kind of shield bash attack in addition to normal weapon attacks |

You have Guardians 2x training in shields <glances away as to not draw his ire>

Guardians can train shield (2x) but they can't use them. This would only be useful in cases like if we use shield use as part of the calcs for crafting shields, and generally, I doubt many Guardians will train it. <g> _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
