Before I get too deep into this appraisal and tailoring issue... would you all rather see "Tailored by Hannah Channing" when you appraise your tailored goods or would you rather the "tags" look more like armor. Example: This backpack was created by Hannah Channing.

I'd rather have(high level) Artisans be able to provide a LOOK for the items. If that's not going to happen, then I'd be fine with having their name/date in the LOOK.

I voted for the artisan's name and date tailored to be placed in the look just because of the fact that no tailorables can have looks so it would be nice to have something there.

In the appraisal. Because you may get an item altered with a more detailed LOOK in the future.

If item taps are changed drastically, merchants can go in and change the appraisal tag to their name. Smile

Haelrahv will turn into a huge name-dropping society!

Just a FYI: Tailored goods are no alter. That is why I offered the name and date in the look.

Oh, I didn't know that.

Is that a new change? Because I know of several instances when I've gotten something Yaru's made me altered.

Been like that for quite a while.

You carefully look over a kashaga pelt satchel.
It is worn on or over a single shoulder.
It looks like the satchel will hold about 33 pounds of weight.
The satchel currently holds about 15 pounds of items.
This object may not be altered in any way.
You have no idea how much a kashaga pelt satchel is worth, but you think it could be around $4,503.
Roundtime: 20 sec.

I would like for the name/date to go into the look. It's good for promoting, and it's good for RP, like Seth who is trying to operate a fashion business. Now people can show his goods off when they show their items to friends/family/monsters/whathaveyou.

I also wouldn't mind for more things to go into the look, in which case the names should go in the appraisal. I think sometimes tailored goods can be a bit too wordy, ie "A jet black rila silk thigh quiver with blood red and scarlet stitching embroidered with a gorgeous ortus flower with pointed leaves in shades of crimson". That's pretty long. I wouldn't mind say the attachment/embroidery going into the look.

So for example:

---
Instead of -
>tap thigh quiv
You tap a jet black rila silk thigh quiver with blood red and scarlet stitching embroidered with a gorgeous ortus flower with pointed leaves in shades of crimson

It would be-
tap thigh quiv
You tap a jet black rila silk thigh quiver with blood red and scarlet stitching

l thigh quiv
This thigh quiver is embroidered with a gorgeous ortus flower with pointed leaves in shades of crimson

or

This thigh quiver is adorned with thin halxna chains
---

But I like the name/date in the look too.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've gotten a tailored item altered ever since exceptional skin containers were made non-alterable. I think I was the last one (if not the only one) to get it done, since the announcement was made very shortly after I got the alteration, but I could be wrong. So that change may have been done after that.

Oh well.

i'm cool with either one, but i'm going to still semi-split my vote.

1) if we're going to do just the name, i think it would look cool if it was done the same way it was done in the app like GMs have. this would blur the line between player made and GM made in my mind, which i think is one of the big ultimate goals of HR. The information of "this was made by X" is more appraisal worthy, anyway, as it implies you have an understanding of the craftsmanship behind it.

2) that said, i'm also not against it working like it does in armor, where it shows the name and the date. so if we go name and date, it should belong in the look. if just the name is wanted, it should go in the app. but i don't think that the way we show the name and date in armor is the most IC way, either. it just feels kind of put on there right now. i'd rather it be a stamp, or a patch, or something that makes it part of the item as opposed to just information based on the item (which to me belongs in an appraisal).

so if we have it be pure information, i say 1. if we have it be information done in an RPed way, then the look is fine. i wouldn't want a look that says "Made by Yaru Dex last Tuesday" though. that sounds more app like.
