Quote:
Scarlet Johansson to Campaign Against Bush

Washington, Sept. 12: If there is one thing where actress Scarlett Johansson does not want to take any chances, then that is convincing the American people to vote against President George W. Bush in the upcoming elections in the US.

The 21-year-old Lost in translation beauty has made up her mind to spend her free time this year in mustering the support of youth across the country against President George W. Bush.

"I'd rather be photographed doing something politically active like encouraging people to vote. I'm not a George Bush supporter and I'm eagerly awaiting the end of his term," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

The upcoming elections will not be the first time that Johansson campaigns against Bush, for she had actively campaigned for Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry prior to his defeat at the hands of Bush in 2004's Presidential election. (ANI)

(Perhaps) sadly, that wasn't even the most poorly edited version I found.

It's really great, that urban legends know their target audience so well. The type of people who would rally to prevent a president from a THIRD term. You found multile versions? Where?

I don't believe it's an "urban legend." The gist of the text seems accurate, the details may or may not be. I did say (or at least imply) it was poorly edited.

What's sad is that I'm not sure I'd put it past GWB to use the usual terror/war boogeyman to scare the U.S. into passing legislation to let him run a third term. Or just claim a third term himself as part of his "wartime executive power".

I find it easier to believe in someone's ignorance and overeagerness to jump on a nonexistent anti-reelection wagon.

Poor Hillary will just have to come up with a more creative platform than "I'm not Bush."

Where do you seperate the gist from the details? If you mean the gist ='s that she does not like Bush, then okay, I'll agree. If you think the gist ='s that she doesn't realize he's ineligible, I disagree.

The following article is likely where that story came from, it atleast shares alot of the same sentances:

Hollywood.com wrote:

The Lost in Translation beauty actively campaigned for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry prior to his defeat at the hands of George W. Bush in 2004's election.

And she readily admits she can't wait for Bush's departure from The White House in the 2008 election.

The 21-year-old says, "I'd rather be photographed doing something politically active like encouraging people to vote.

"I'm not a George Bush supporter and I'm eagerly awaiting the end of his term."
