While talking with a friend and non psionic I found out he gets the same amount of aid in powers like Attune eyesite that I do. I have more than twice the occult lore and psionic ability as this person does. meanwhile some of powers do increase with skill such as spirit servant .. I was lucky at first to keep the servant for 20 minutes now I have him for over 100.. I do feel I should stay with my core training but after level 100 those points do not come as easily. Its almost like I have reached my limit with psionics, and thats not encouraging.. There is a queston in here or two.. Will powers like Attune eyesite and Precognition get better with more skill? and how about a psionic bonus to them. I believe that is the case with other professions. I have spellsongs that performers of the same skill or less can perform better than I can.. shouldnt psionics be just as profession oriented ?

Psionics receive a bonuse due to sheer skill, adding a bonus on top of that would be redundant. However, there are caps on how high some abilities can go. I'll look at the cap on attune eyesight and see if it's reasonable.

stat boosters are sorta like armor aura and so on. they have a cap as to how strong they can get,, but they keep lasting longer and longer.

i think, at least. Smile

Durations do generally continue to scale up according to skill, yes.

I've modified this power in a few ways, and will be looking at other powers. Really what we should have is no or a real high cap, but a sliding focus cost to compensate, but the system isn't set up that way. So this is what I did instead:

Max bonus modified from 10 to 12 for non-psionics, 10 to 20 for psionics.

Skill + mentality needed for each point of bonus increased.

Duration of the power reduced quite a bit. It lasts a base three minutes as before, but the additional time (skill-based) past that three minutes was halved.

Yes it's very likely that spells and stuff will use a system where you choose how much power to feed it.

Not that I'm against that type of system, but it combined with nskills is reminding me almost too much of that other game we have all played.

I have a belief about this topic.

1. Don't go out emulating your competitors just because they do something successfully.

2. Don't throw out a good idea just because a competitor uses it already.

Just out of curiosity did you get a chance to look at the other skills(alluring aura, precognition, balance, spirit guide, trance, photographic memory(just throwing it out there.))?

Rolling Eyes *whistles, and twiddles his thumbs* Embarassed

I noticed while posting this that I know nightvision twice over, just thought I'd share.

While I'm mentioning this, I might as well bring up the old thinger with not being able to (while under see invisible) search out someone who hid(after or before casting invisible)
You would need to reveal before having the chance to see if they are hiding there.

[10.20.07] The following updates have been made:
- Attune Eyesight and Alluring Aura now benefit less from mentality (so psionic ability skill is more significant).
- Precognition and Trance now benefit less from mentality, require more skill for high results, but have a higher cap to the bonus they provide so high skill psionics can take better advantage of these powers.
- Balance now has a shorter duration and incorporates psionic ability skill much more, while relying on mentality less. The cap to the bonus provided to all three stats has been increased.
- Spirit Guide now relies on mentality less, and psionic ability skill more. A cap has been implemented to govern the bonus it provides, and the power scales more properly to skill level than before.
- Players with a high intellect and the photographic memory ability can now MEMORIZE more locations.

There is still a cap on how much you can get out of these powers, however, and this is entirely intended. We can't have people boosting a stat by +25 all the time, no matter how high your skill is. Wink

Heh, precognition and alluring aura are a bit better now, I get worse results with everything else.. spirit guide's focus cost is much much lower now, (or this is the first time I've noticed) too bad he is about a third as useful.
Owell, I asked for change. Very Happy

How do you fair at your end of the level scale, drusilla?
