Just wanted to let all my future subservients know that the Technicians "guild" has been completed. It consists of a company known as Teksystems, which operates underground in Rinth. If you are a true nerd at heart (that means all gamers, engineers, scientists, etc), the atmosphere will really appeal to you. Then again, the techs will rule the world anyway, so you better hop on the bandwagon.
Now, what I'd like to ask is.. while the guild is still hot off the griddle, what kinds of little things would you guys like to see inside? There's the usual techs-only lounge, but I'd like a few more ideas for something inside that only technicians can reach. You can post them here, or email me (hr-zoz@haelrahv.com), and I'll let you know the end result soon.

Are materials supply shops going to be Tech only? If so, then I would assume your going to locate them in Rinth, no?

OOhh I thought of something else, a Tech only library. With access to computer that can upload the history of the Tech guild, etc. No paper tomes for Techs!

Techs of a high enough level to build droids will have access to the droid shop inside of Teksystems, but all other "material" (weapons armor herbs etc) shops are scattered throughout Rinth. I AM open to suggestions for other tech-only things inside of Teksystems though, since all the areas are publically accessible other than the lounge and droid shop currently.
There is a library of sorts inside already, with a tiny bit of history available. I'm sure it'll be expanding as the history of the company unfolds a bit more. But thanks for the computer suggestion, that might actually lead to another system entirely. Rest assured, the software on these computers will be open source.

Just curious, but will there be recipes/bom's (bill of materials) you buy, or do you learn them from your guild?

You said there is the droid shop and lounge that is private, but what about labs where the tech can go to assemble the bots? Or do they have to assemble them out in the open?

<g> I know what a BOM is, engineering is my living, which is why I've been excited about this droid system.
Yes, there will be plenty of documentation on droid-building, and at least one room IN the droid shop will be a tech-only assembly room, although I can see making another separate lab for those who want some more peace and quiet. It's also possible that elite technicians will be able to own private labs (when the Infomatica research building opens up in Rinth) that are better-equipped for this kind of task too. Sort of like a house, but better.

Not quite.. you people have access to but a small portion of the overall world as it is. When we eventually release the whole world to everyone, you will have access to a Technician's guild in one of the cities. It's already built (except the droid shop) and is quite large, none of you will be disappointed.
