This ability (SURVEY) is not limited to Trackers, I just post it here because it's more of their kind of "thing", and they are able to do it a bit more efficiently in general. It's just a fun little tool I thought I'd mention. It provides some basic info on an area.
survey
Looking carefully at your surroundings, you note the primary composition of the terrain as a fair concentration of grass, a small amount of concrete and other man-made urban material, and a hint of dirt.
This area is slightly higher than sea level.
It is currently day.

I definitely like the look of this, but not too sure about where/or how this will help us at the moment (blame it Mondayitis) _________________ ~My Reality Check Bounced~

Some of it isn't a great help. But it does help locate where to forage for things for example, if you know what types of climate/terrain a certain foragable is most likely to be found in. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

What about the sea level line? Are some foragables going to be limited to certain heights? I'd be for that if this is the case.. adds more realism and whatnot, not to mention annoyance to those that don't know.

Some plants are more likely to grow at certain altitudes. In time, altitude will be applied to other systems. You don't see it there, but if this area were in/under water, you would see a general description of how deep the water is, also. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Definitely like the sound of all this. Which brings up another question: Does this mean we will be able to swim underwater, with/without apparatus? _________________ ~My Reality Check Bounced~

Stuff for underwater swimming is not developed yet, but yes. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

And yet another market for us Techies to corner. ..At least for the air tanks and other mechanical things, since I doubt we'd really want to make flippers. Maybe.. maybe we can make laser-guided harpoons, too. Who wouldn't enjoy that?!

Needless to say, if you're swimming around without an airtank (or if it runs out), you'll be able to drown
So, in this case, hold your breath |

I'd rather have laser-guided harpoon lasers, but I suppose those work too. _________________ pro.gram.mer (n) - a device which converts caffeine into code |

When and if techies can build these, or anything else for that matter, will they be able to sabotage the equipment in some way?
For instance, Merc Timmy asks Tech Bob to build him a SCUBA set. Now sometime in the past Timmy stiffed Bob out of a huge load of coins for something else that he had Bob make him but he has forgotten about his, but good ol' Bob hasnt.
Therefore could Bob sabotage the SCUBA set (or anything else that Techies can build) in some way so that when Timmy goes swimming, even though the gauge says he has 2 hours of air in actual fact he only has 30 minutes, thereby bringing Timmy to an untimely demise? _________________ ~My Reality Check Bounced~
