As the time for our lovely holidays approach I was wondering if holidays actually exist in HR.
I know we had that...festival last year during halloween, but is there actually like, Christmas on Haelrahv? Or an equivalent to it? Or any other holidays for that matter? _________________ Neifl Cacambo - "Anyone have change for a tampon?"

If there were, it'd be every two years -- give or take. It's not time for Xeishei (eh, can't spell it)...it will be NEXT year at this time. But yes. More feast days would be great. ^.^ _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

i'm pro more feast days but against more festivals as a result of them.
while it would be cool to have a huge celebration for all of them, i'd rather see a big fest or two each year than have them spread out all year due to feast days. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Agreed. More 'player run' feastivals I'm all for though. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

the campus is 110% available for that kind of stuff, too. i'm more than willing to change the room description of the outside campus square for just these kinds of things. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Right I wasn't asking for a fest for every holiday... I was just curious if we celebrate Christmas on Haelrahv (especially Humans) or if there were any other holidays that we might have here in Haelrahv that we could celebrate as players, not as "fests" _________________ Neifl Cacambo - "Anyone have change for a tampon?"

Humans should...but again...it'd be that once every age I suppose...and that'd be two years. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

that could be debatable. while i'm sure humans generally follow the twice-as-long calendar on Haelrahv, it wouldn't surprise me if they still try to celebrate human things every ~365 days. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

In Haelrahv, ages are represented in how many 'seasons' old a person is. There are eight seasons per Haelrahv year. A year in Haelrahv, called an 'age', is twice as long as a year on Earth, for comparison. |
So actually...we'd have to celebrate christmas twice an age because its the equivalent to 2 years on earth. woohoo more presents for me! _________________ Neifl Cacambo - "Anyone have change for a tampon?"

hmm was just curious as christmas is based on a christian celebration would humans still actually celebrate it?
i would be all for celebrating ilafai or ateon day or the other equivelant gods . but it should be i think a player run thing and not a gm one . im sure amongst us all we could rp the various celebrations ourselves just gotta get our heads together |

yeah because i think of baby jesus now when i celebrate.
just because the basis maay be religious, that doesn't mean X,000 years from now it'll even be remembered that way.
that said, it would be cool if there were a cult of earth evangelicals in Haelrahv waiting to strike. I SMELL A PLOT LINE. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Having a 365 year day was over 600 years ago though, in human terms. I doubt the holiday as it is today would have survived that long. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

well, considering a good chunk of religious holidays have existed for 600 years...
that, and a lot of cultures/religions still follow their own calendars along with the global standard calendar. that's why i said it's debatable if Earth holidays would follow the Haelrahv calendar or their own. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!
