Commod outposts could be put on J island, Chodaku, Echak and even that small village in the forgotten caverns. Also, more commodities could be 'invented'. More normal stuff like raw cooking materials and MEAT, yes skinning meat from critters and maybe even certain pelts/hides/skins could be added to some village outposts.
Only Chodaku would get a full service commod center because it's an actual thriving populace. The others are backwater areas and only basic commods(the top section when looking at the ticker, no potions or poisons) could be traded there.
The price caps of each commod post would be different of course as each area would have abundant resources of one thing but need something else.
One could go the extra mile so to speak when trying to make money, travel to another outpost to sell their goods for a premium over the closer outposts.

From Chodaku back to Llanfair is but a single short boat ride away. That amusing comment prompted me to here to ask the question: Is traveling about HR far too easy?

And this new idea coming from someone who used me as an example of how traveling was too easy here!
Llanfair is the center of this area its only right it is the center of commerce as well besides like you said... its but a single boat ride away from Chodaku |

What does that have to do with anything? These are ideas, suggestions. When I posted about travel being too easy, that was my opinion, some agreed, some didn't and the GM's all made very fine points. The main being that this 'version, for lack of a better term, of Haelrahv is very small when compared to the 'real version' that's being built for us.
With that aside, regardless of how easy travel is in HR at the moment, I still think this commod outpost idea has some merit. Traveling via conventional means in HR is just as 'easy' as magical means, just not as fast. A boat ride, a taxi, to another island for people on foot takes a few more extra minutes, people would have to decide if that's worth the extra money they would get for trading in another area.
