1) danger sense. does it do anything?

2) art bonus and fires. while i love love love the art bonus, i notice that fires give me the same kind of bonus to art skills that they give to my profession skills. while i'm all for getting the fire bonus to singing along with my normal alteri art bonus, i can't tell if this was a bug or and oversight or what. i'd love for it to stay, though. Wink

3) like how jaddan are by default naturally resistant to physical attacks, it would be nice if alteri, being the resident big brained psychics, were somehow more naturally resistant to psionic (if not magical as well) attacks.

4) it would be cool if higher level alteri can somehow learn mental link naturally as an expansion to the natural telepathy skill. that way, more skill stuff is granted over time as opposed to someone out the character manager getting to experience all the awesomeness of being an alteri right from the start (well, except for how great the art bonus is).

5) also to further alteri on being awesome at both psychic ability and conversational powers, maybe grant them a way to telepathically communicate to just alteri. granted, i'm sure with the playerbase now it will be used as rarely as the profession channels on the comms, but it would be cool for alteri to be capable of all babbling to each other telepathically in semi-private.

Yes. You're not always aware of its effects, sometimes you just... miss danger.

All this stuff will be straightened out soon. All percentage skill/stat bonuses will be going away.

Nice idea, but I do think Alteri bonuses are pretty damn good as-is, too.

Something I'd like to add to Live is the concept of heritage abilities. Abilities you can unlock later on in life via quests, which are related to race, and maybe even some sort of background you choose for your character. Still just a concept for now though.

A flat bonus to certain skills, basically. I could make that all skills that are already bonused, easily. I dunno, I'll be figuring it out soon, but it will be a flat point bonus nonetheless.

For what it's worth, I really like the idea of these "heritage abilities" you mentioned, Trevor.

They'll be like a throwback to Diablo.. and pretty much every other RPG game, I guess, with skill trees.

And that includes Humans who never get love but SHOULD because they're an alien race to Haelrahv!

Kit, please stop. Humans get good bonuses. The only thing they do lack at the moment is a quarter in Llanfair to call their own. While I'm hoping you're just being sarcastic, it's getting a bit banal at this point when you bring it up in almost every thread dealing with races or bonuses or what-have-you.

Yay? The center of town in an Eolai city? This is hardly about bonuses. Humans are covered in that, and also in traits and stats and...so let's leave the CM part of things out of it. Numbers and bonus points have never had anything to do ith my little rants on humans getting no love. They have bonuses to skills in their core because other races have autoskills right out of CM. Therefore, in the grand scheme of things, a human doesn't have it better than another race on THAT scale because the other races more than make up for it in their own bonuses.

What I'm gunning for is something cultural. Something that is racial that doesn't deal with skills.

And common doesn't count because EVERYONE knows common plus another language except humans. What I'm always pushing for is things that other races get that humans don't. Like suites at the Blue Aroai. Or stencils at the Vale. Or a place for the spellsong to take you. Or their own racial spellsong.

Why? Because Alteri/Jaddan/Eolai are technically the 'humans' of Haelrahv. Humans and Darju are the aliens. That's why I get sniffly when humans are overlooked. I picked one esspecially because they were the alien race. If I wanted to pick a race best for my profession, I would have been an alteri.

this thread is about alteri in the alteri folder not humans and how they are not loved.

if you want to talk about humans, start a thread about it in the humans folder.

stop hijacking this thread

Sorry. Someone mentioned other races. I did not intend to hijack a thread, but, unfortunately, people have a tendancy to randomly post things and I was answering them.

Note: I don't even look at what folder things are in anymore. I just click posts. Sorry about adding to the disoriginization!

Gms: Is it possible to have the stuff posted here moved to another thread?

just because someone says "heritage stuff sounds cool for all races" is no reason to start talking about humans.

if you really want to talk about humans, there is a human folder. it would be awesome to see it used.
