Well...I just did a somewhat extensive repair work on my busted cybergear...and my nskill repair is:
Skill Sheet For Kit Murphy:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Name Progress
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Repair : 0 ( 0%) [0.0]
Somewhat Extensive = two damaged limbs + minor repairkit fixes to almost all limbs.
Edit: Fixed my staticy comm chip (advanced chip+upgrade kit) too and still nothing. Am I just able to repair things so well I don't even learn anymore? That would kinda such for us higher ups since people just starting will have much better nskills than us.
Edit again! Eka's organizer let me get 6%!
Heh...kinda funny I can get over 1 skill rank in arcane artifact use in a few minutes and I can only get 10% in electronics and 6% in repair over a much longer and more involved time. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I haven't looked specifically at those particular things yet, but what I -can- tell you is that every repairable item requires additional and separate code (which is why, as you've noticed, some things require different commands than others), and not all systems are updated yet to teach nskills. We are working on it.
I'm sure when Drake sees this and is able to, he will check into those systems. _________________ Counselor Faith Tempest

When you guys work on the repairing stuff for nskill, could repairing lockpicks teach as well? Techs aren't the only repairers! _________________ >ask librarian about books

If I have it right, then because he doesn't have any repair skill already his nskill moves faster. He just got done spending like 30 minutes repairing lockpicks. _________________

Is that how it's gonna work? I suppose I'll be doing a lot of training before I actually use my skillpoints when we switch over. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Lockpick related gains aren't associated with current skill old-skill-list skill at all. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Okay. I'll just have to wait and see when repairing some things Faith said currently don't teach start to teach. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Actually Doc, I spent like 30 minutes on just YOUR kit, I had done I think 2 and a half kits before that. It takes about 5-8 repairs to do badly damaged picks (which most peoples are, you pick abusers), And there's about 15 picks in a fully stocked kit, plus I think like 5-7 wrenches or something like that. So, I think that was after 3.5 kits that I had that nskill, so that's what? 250-300 repair attempts or something like that? _________________ >ask librarian about books

Maybe that's the case with med gear and repair... Maybe several small attempts (like cybergear) could happen... I've only repaired med gear once since the change and found that it hardly moved me at all. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I believe, on average each attempt moved me about 1.2% _________________ >ask librarian about books
