...is something we've needed on these forums for a long time now. There seem to be several mods for phpbb to do this. Can we get one installed?

While a mod would be best, here's a solution.
1. Download and install Firefox
2. Install the Greasemonkey extension.
3. Restart Firefox.
4. Go here
5. Right click on 'phpBB User Hide" and select 'Install User script...' from the context menu and click 'OK' twice.
Now you may ignore users on any phpBB just by clicking on a little 'x' beside their name.
