Just psionic. "psionic" is misleading too, actually, since it's really any 'mental' attack.

Okies explain how the resist thing works again? Since I'm still getting paralyzed by someone at least 25 levels below me, and 575 resist below me.

Paralyze hasn't been updated yet. In fact, only Drums of Fear has been. When paralyze, blood siphon etc are updated they'll be noted in NEWS.

[10.12.05] Blindness, Paralysis, Psychic Sight, Mind Wipe, and Revelation have been modified to use the new mental resistance system. Intimidation training is now required to make proper use of these powers.

[10.12.05] Blood Siphon, Siphon Vigor, and Shrink have been modified to use the new magic resistance system. Persuasion skill is now required to make effective use of these spells.

The more the better. It's matched against the magic resist of the person you're sighting, so for very magic resistant persons, a lot would be needed.

someone with 400 mental resist and a minor amount of intimidation can locate me (with over 1.3k mental resist).

are things just heavily tilted in the favor of the attacker?

Things aren't tilted for the "attacker" or the defender, but different stats are used. If the attacker had high charisma and low intellect, this would explain the difference in their attack ability and resist. I'd need more information on the characters involved to be specific or to be sure all was working as intended.

Looking at this more...

The way psychic sight is set up is like this:

- If the room or character status (GM for example) blocks locates then the locate fails outright.

- If the target is hidden or invisible and either the locator does not have see invis, or the defender resists, the locate fails outright.

- If the target is out in the open, they will be found, period. However, if they resist, they are informed that they are being located by player X.

This is the way I would like to see it work. If the target is out in the open, they have the chance to resist.

1. If they resist completely, they see the name of the locater, but the locater doesn't see them.
2. If they resist partially, they see the name of the locater, and the locater sees them.
3. If they don't resist, they see nothing, and the locater sees them.

I'd also like see invisible to not be an automatic thing and have skill checks.

What skill would be checked when the target has used Elixir of Invisibility?

For the spell, would this be a Mental Attack vs. Magic Defense? I notice Mental Attack requires skill training(Intimidation) while Magic Defense doesn't. How would that affect things?(Or would it? I'm tired.) #EDIT: Okay. I'm tired. Mental Defense doesn't have a skill associated with it, either#

Of course, I don't use See Invisible much in any case, just curious.

invisibility should just be a mega-form of hiding, as opposed to a win-all like it is now.
