Do they seem a bit too one-sided to anyone? Just the fact that there's no check at all to see if the person avoids being handcuffed, no need to advance on the person...all they need to be doing is sitting down. And as far as I can tell, once you're handcuffed you may as well just go get a drink or something if it's against someone that knows what they're doing. All they have to do is hit the stun button right after handcuffing and they can be in the booking office before it wears off.

I personally think that the trooper should have an advantage, seeing as they're the only ones keeping the peace and that the murderers *should* have something to be constantly worried about, but it just seems so completely one sided that the idea of resisting arrest as it is right now is a joke.

That really dosen't matter due to the fact that after a trooper makes an arrest the murderer has the option to pursue and attack the arresting trooper to no end. So the act of arresting and being booked is just a pralude to endless assualts and attacks to any trooper that even tries to RP the ability to arrest those wanted for crimes.
Maybe there should be laws that protect troopers on-duty in thier jurisdicton. Stiffer than the fines paided for murder. I mean if you go out and attack a cop who has arrested you then you would expect to go to jail for a very very long time.
And resisting arrest after being cuffed should also be added as a crime and increase the fine when booked and tried.
I have only arrested one person in game and since then she has murdered me twice and attacked me I'm not sure how many times....all I did was RP my trooper and now I am being hunted by a bully for doing that job......try being a trooper and doing the duty before you judge what seems right and what dosen't.

Actually you can't move them from room to room while they are stunned. So pressing the stun button doesn't really do anything for you.

If a Trooper needed to advance on someone before cuffing them, well there would never be any arrests since anyone could just hide or leave the room to evade arrest.

The resisting of arrest usually comes BEFORE being cuffed heh.

This isn't the finale of justice, just the begining. There will be more tweaks and such in the future I'm sure.

well, yeah, but it isn't like a trooper can't surprise someone or something.

You can't advance from hiding. . .yet.

One could easily highlight a Troopers name or the 'begins to advance on you' words or something so they would never miss it, all they have to do is hide or move rooms to negate it all.

After that I'm sure they wouldn't be coming out into the open anytime soon, so it's another waiting standoff.

We have no moves or abilities or equipment designed specifcally for stunning or incapacitating from ranged.

The only way we could catch someone off guard would be to wait for them to go afk and arrest them like that if they remain in the open if we had to be at melee to arrest.

Ask for some pillows in the trooper shop.

The knock down effect doesn't always kick in heh. If they stood there long enough to get knocked down with a pillow, they could just stand there while I advanced on them too.

Morrigan, Rikiar and I are going to discuss the arrests and changes to them in the future.
