What are/is the major stats for becoming a medic? Reason I ask is that I see only the Humans as being medics. I want to be a race other than Human.
Thank you.

I would assume, just by pure speculation, that... Coordination (must know how to multitask during a surgery), Perception (must be able to catch even the smallest of things), and Intellect (must know what the hell you're doing)... would be key. Maybe Mentality, too. I'm unsure just what the difference between Intellect and Mentality will be, though, but I'm sure it'll either be one of them, if not both.

Medic core skills are First Aid, Medicine, Surgery, Electronics, and Research.
does this help? _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

Core skills was a word slip in Jocelyn's post. She meant important skills, not actual core (auto-train) skills. <g>
Really, all stats are generally helpful to all professions. The bare minimum vital stats for a Medic would be Coordination, Mentality, Intellect, and Perception, in that order probably.
Any race is suitable as a Medic. The races that are most naturally suited, however, would be Alteri and Human. Overall, while stats are very important, skills are more important. It is completely feasible to be a Jaddan Medic, with a +2 coordination, +1 mentality, +1 intellect and +1 perception cost. Depending on your playstyle, especially whether you still wish to take part in combat, a Jaddan could be better for you, in fact. It's all about what your preferences are.
The difference between intellect and mentality... intellect is a measure of one's intelligence, the ability to think on a high level, digest information and in a small way, their overall wisdom. Mentality is the strength of mind and will. It is very much like the Discipline stat in DR. One's ability to focus their mind, whether it is to perform a tricky operation like surgery or picking a lock, or one's ability to withstand a mental attack from a psionic entity are all examples of mentality in use. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Yeah Trevor's right, electronics is not a core skill oops
However it is important to Medics since they use alot of high tech devices _________________ "I'm not quiet...I'm plotting" |

Thanks for the help and tips! Now I'm much more comfortable being another race. Although, I must point out that the Races list doesn't show the Alteri as a probable choice for becoming a Medic. That is why I assumed only Humans would be better Medics than any other race.

Ahhh okay, I think I intentionally didn't list -every- profession that was suitable, but limited it to 4 max for cosmetic reasons... but I've changed the Alteri profile to include Medics. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
