Guardians:
What are your views on allowing Guardians to use some light forms of armor (cloth, leather)? Would this be a welcome thing or do you believe it would detract from the profession in some way? _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

One of the things I liked about being a Guardian is the RP of not needing armor. As far as I can see Damion has grown without armor fairly well. I do sometimes envy people who have holo armor and the like because it looks nice, besides that I'm perfectly fine not wearing any. |

I'm not a guardian or anything...but they're pretty cool because they don't need anything like that. Maybe hand armor wouldn't be bad though. Ouch. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Perhaps when damage-to-weapons comes into play, the need for some kind of hand protection could be worked in. But from my days as a Guardian, I also liked the whole not needing to wear anything aspect.
Besides, who needs armor when you can dodge most things on-level (and, at least back in the day, a few levels higher)?

Handguards would be fun...or like..handworn weapons. Brassknuckles. Spikes. That would be mostly damage gain...but I think that maybe leather hand wraps or bandages to provide a small amount of protection shouldn't be harmful. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I wouldn't want it. I mean, I don't see the reason for it. We already can have a ton of resistance... I just don't see the reasoning behind it. I think it would detract from the profession. |

I'm all for no armor, but I like the idea of some hand worn protection, considering that's mostly what's used. Though Galeth has some high shit for agility and coordination, and neither parry no dodge Kucho's :X. So no armor works, but mebbe those hand wraps as Kit stated. _________________ "In view of the fact that God limited the intelligence of man, it seems unfair that he did not also limit his stupidity."

I'm for no armor. Though, I wear gauntlets that have a nice unarmed bonus. That gets a bit tricky, when an armored item is bonused on something other than the armor skill itself.
If thinking of not allowing a guardian to even wear are armomr, i'd rather see percentage or weight limitt of armor so you could still have a couple small items that have special bonuses. |
