[Llanfair, Sparring Ground]
Banners of brilliant color planted deeply in the ground sway violently in the wind. Centered between them a large field of raked sand forms a stage upon which fighters and gladiators vie for supremacy in combat. A lush field of exotic jogoban grass to the east provides a place for spectators to sit and watch the contests, shaded by leafy haeleio trees.
 
Also here is Avante-Gardist Yaru Dex and Archmage Autae Satyr.
It is dark here.
You notice an exit leading east.
>invoke telekinetic swarm
Closing your eyes, you begin to draw into your mind and invoke the Telekinetic Swarm power.
Roundtime: 6 sec.
Spell preparation time: 4 sec.

Autae Satyr bounces around happily.

You complete your invocation.

You fully recover your inner focus.

Your concentration lapses and your invocation fails, leaving you feeling drained.

You squint.

Autae Satyr moves his hands in a smooth, circular motion as he intones the incantation of a spell.

Autae Satyr throws his arms into the air and stares into the heavens!
The stars in the sky above suddenly grow bright and shine with greater intensity!

Closing your eyes, you begin to draw into your mind and invoke the Telekinetic Swarm power.

You stare intently at Autae Satyr.

Random debris takes to flight and careers through the air toward Autae Satyr and slams into him!
Autae Satyr is dazed by the effects of your attack!

The debris falling around Autae Satyr falls still.

He has a bruised left eye, a wounded right eye, a bruised chest, a slightly scuffed back, a bruised abdomen, and a bruised left leg.
 
He is bleeding slightly from the right eye.


Tried on Yaru, as well. Even with Ward of Spirits, Mysticism and Legend going I could barely hit him. Blinded him, still dodged. Paralyzed him and it finally hit three times.

This area of the encampment seems to be used by the hunters to clean their kills and prepare the meat and skins acquired in their hunts. Many tripods are scattered around the area, some with skins stretched across them, curing. Others with meat being smoked or cooked in large pots of water. The smell of smoke and cooking meat permeate the air.
 
You also see a camp gate, an alajsh tracker, an alajsh tracker, a jumbo-sized jar of Majesty brand dermagel, a thin-bladed fleshing knife, a jumbo-sized jar of Majesty brand dermagel, a jumbo-sized jar of Majesty brand dermagel and some nicked glass.
You notice exits leading north, east, and south.

This gaunt humanoid stands about six feet in height and seems intelligent and civilized.  Much of its body is covered in bluish feathers.  Its attire would suggest it may be some sort of tracker.
 
She is holding a hunter's bow in her right hand and nothing in the left.

You stare intently at an alajsh tracker.
Roundtime: 6 sec.

An alajsh tracker loads a hunter's bow with some incendiary arrows.
Taking a chance, an alajsh tracker fires a hunter's bow at you.  Despite her best efforts, you dodge the attack with relative ease.
[You are fairly well balanced, healthy, well rested, and your inner focus is strong.]

A jumbo-sized jar of Majesty brand dermagel takes to flight and careers through the air toward an alajsh tracker and slams into her!
You feel fully rested.

So, if there's stuff on the ground it'll hurl that. What's used doesn't seem to matter any.

Could it be possible that more debris on the ground (as in the case of the dermagel and knife) actually inflicts more damage, than say nothing on ground (and getting simple 'debris' message) when the power is invoked?

Just a thought.

The number of appropriate items (ones that can normally be picked up, but not -too- heavy) affects your chance to throw one of these items instead of random debris. Throwing one of these items causes the attack to do more damage, depending on the item thrown. It's more likely to throw lighter items than heavier ones.

Ironically, Psionics and Mages in HR do share a lot of abilities that are similar to DR's moon mages, but it's purely coincidental. I'd dare say hurling objects telekinetically makes more sense for a psionic than a moon mage, anyway.

I'd argue with that (and Glim's comment, but this is hardly the place to talk about the superiority of Moon Mages.
