Will the process for making a poison generally be the same as in alchemy (as displayed in the other thread)?
What will the sources of poison be? Poisonous creatures, herbs, or even chemicals of some kind?
And now the other end.. What applications will there be? Poisoning food and drink, coating melee weapons too.. Maybe even going so far as to have a bullet specially designed to deliver poison to a target.. |

Poisons work in a manner similar to alchemy, yep. Right now animals aren't used, but animal parts will later be introduced, I'm sure. Possibly before release, possibly not.
Poisons are made using a number of poisonous plants prepared in a manner that makes it most effective, for example, dedlas seeds are crushed and pressed to extract dedlas oil, or imfel seeds are crushed and boiled, and the crystals they leave behind, imfel crystals, are used in poisons.
Poisons require many components alchemy does not and vice versa, but use a similar process and tools.
Applications will be weapons, food, drink, traps, arrows, not sure on bullets yet, but it seems reasonable.

Heh no kidding. Hopefully it won't go insanely overboard like it did in DR, where you can kill any and all Players and critters in a single pulse of poison (they last like 20 pulses), one pulse and boom your chest detonates and you die. And it doesn't even take that great of skill to make it.

<grin> Na, it'll be much more balanced than that. Poison isn't only for damage either, there are many "debuff" poisons that will lower stats, increase the target's RT, etc.
I had considered giving one of the professions poison resistance as a bonus <grin>. I'm sure there will be a number of defense options for poisons, you just have to actively choose to use 'em.

So will there be any professions/races that have a natural resistance.. or weakness? |

I had actually slotted Alteri to have a resistance but removed it. Right now, I'd say no. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I hope someone has some experience with poison and cybernetics...
When poison is applied to retractable claws on cyber hands, will the poison still be there after theyre retracted and re-extended? And, if hit in a cyber limb with poison, will you be poisoned? _________________ ... And all's well that ends OK,

Poison dissipates when you retract your claws, unfortunately, unless this issue was fixed and I am behind the times.
Either way, it's not so much of an intened thing as just a quirk because of how poisoned weapons and those claws work in conjunction. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

thought so, when i was thinkin about how they were most likely coded. appreciate the quick reply. How about gettin hit in a cyber limb with a poisoned blade? Does that introduce the poison to your bloodstream? _________________ ... And all's well that ends OK,

So far as I know, damage to cyber parts with a poisoned weapon don't transfer poisoning. Before you rush out to turn yourself into an inorganic no-poison tank, however, be aware that acid damage is increased on cybernetic components. _________________ Mickey Brunner

Ok, so I remember reading recently that blunt weapons are not poisonable. But what about exotics, polearms, and throwns? _________________ ** The phrase "break a leg" just wasn't ambitious enough for Mellie Knight. [8:31 pm]
