I can't even seem to play DR anymore. It's just not what I wanna do anymore. It's too bad because I have so much invested in the game already. With the new cleric requirements, I think I'm just gonna stop playing when I get done with my weddings in August.

I'm curious if you knew me in DR at all? Oola or Kissa?

I recoginze the name, but I don't think any of my characters ever met up with you. Though, I recognize quite a few other names, too...like Kilan, Fazehund, Dragoonseal, and Brokyn's Empath...though I forget the name right now. Embarassed Just to name a few...I know there's more...heh. I was on the boards way too much when I played. This isn't exactly the topic for this though. We can reminisce in a different topic though.

We have gods for each race, but the info hasn't been published yet. Smile

Can we, sometime in the future, have the Humans go on another religious Crusade? Very Happy Think of the fun!

Er uh, I need to clarify. The Humans don't actually have a god list, since it's... a mix of common sense, touchy for some folks, and so on. Of course anyone can choose to follow any god(s) they want, regardless of origin.

And off the cuff, I don't know that we will be touching the subject of a repeat of the Human Crusades... it has a lot of potential to really offend some folks on a very personal level, unfortunately.

Ah, nuts. But I understand why, so I won't have a ranting pout... this time.

My husband still plays DR and i did at one point too...quite religiously. i haven't been back there in almost 2 years. But when i did play, at least with my empath, i played her as very religious. Asking her god...honestly i can't remember which, to help her heal this person or that and then thanking that same god for the help. she spent time meditating and followed very strictly. I recognized the name Kissa. She married my pryd's ex-husband. I hope he didn't do to her what happened to my char.

Unless you're a Prydaen Wink. Then you get to mock all the fools and their fake Gods, and look up only to the 3 real Gods, Demrris (his symbol is the Iladza), Tenemlor, and Eu.

Silly rabbits.

You tap one claw against your iladza pendant thoughtfully.

"Oh for Eu's sake."
My line! But of course everyone had to go and copy it, and now lots of people say it.

Actually there is only one god for prydaen Eu-Demmris-Tenemlor, though those pesky furless seem to think it is three gods.

Come on, god must be dead by Haelrahv time. ;] My character is moral in that ubermench anti moral sort of way which I find fitting for her as an artisan.

I chose number two because she promotes her own self-religion. I still beleive that a pantheon surves as a useful RP tool. I would find interesting the formation of a player group that pushed the limits and philosophies of whatever religion predominates, and challenges them in the spirit of the lines of the ideas I have quoted.

Sorry, but your mentioning of the 'ubermensch' reminded me of something a friend said the other day in my Sociology class:

Quote:
The god damned Untermensch are reaching plague-like proportions again! Anyone for a Fourth Reich?

Thought I'd share that.

Wait.. how can you be anti-moral and be an ubermensch at the same time?

Because ubermench is antimoral. As I understand it it's about transcendance. All of the qoutes came from "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" the work in which the coinage "ubermench" is born. The idea becomes much clearer in a later work "Beyond Good and Evil." Both books proport the same philosphy, the later through conventional means, the former through parables and narrative.
