Crap, I edited, not replied.

This was the reply: How is it offensive? Well, I can see that it might be offensive, but I got it from a comic on Comedy Central. (same guy that says eucharist is Jes-its). I thought it was hilarious. Then again, it might only be hilarious to someone that's gone through the torture of twelve years of Catholic schooling.

You guys have the oddest set of morals anywhere. You laugh at the horrible horrible things some people post and you don't find a little humor that Jesus rising from the dead as a zombie isn't funny? Well, at least it wasn't lost on most people I said it to.

Before, I just thought you were annoying, whiny, and a liar (none of which seem to be out of the ordinary around here). I don't know why I was so surprised to find this offensive thread today.

I just shook my head and figured I'd let someone else post that they were offended first.

I have to admit that I found it humorous, but I went through 10 1/2 years of catholic schooling myself and agree that it definately changes ones perspective on where "the line" is. You have to understand that blasphemy humor is very touchy, and have to keep your audience in mind when you tell it. Your friends will enjoy it because they're your friends, chosen by you because you share some perspective and enjoy each others style. When telling to a large faceless group of strangers (like here on the forums), you don't know what those people are like or how they were raised. You haven't talked to them in person before hand and decided that they're the kind of person you can say that kind of thing to. The comic makes a living off telling those jokes, but I'd bet they get and expect hundreds of hate mails every week.

Heh, I wasn't offended. Of course, I'm not exactly a religious person... okay, so, I'm not religious at all. Although I did get wrangled into going to church with my grandparents today -_-.

Anyway, I was amused. The mental picture I got from it was rather funny, too *grins*.

This is my "Take Care of Candy-Crazed Little Kids" Day. I just down massive amounts of jellybeans, pretending really hard that they're powerful painkillers.

Well, I'm sorry for those offended. However, my goal was to make people laugh, not insult them.

as someone who worked for the church for over a decade, and was in catholic school from preschool to 8th grade, then a catholic all-male highschool, i think it's my right to laugh at anything about religion. so i laughed at this.

Kit: Any time you joke about religion, you're going to royally piss off some portion of any given population. It's just how it is.

At least my highschool was co-ed.

Those Catholics really screwed you up. I better understand what's wrong with you now.

There is nothing 'wrong' with me. Only with your perception of me. Which is sad. You can never fully understand the greatness that is me. And I was half a Wicca-goth and half a band geek and a stagecrew monkey too. Which counterbalances the whole getting suspended for wearing the guy's uniform in the winter when my legs got too cold to wear the silly skirts. Go me for being a rebel.

So, you're perfect? Ha. Sounds more like you're full of yourself.
