any chance of a lower level creature along the lines of the drones being
created in an environment suitable for lower characters?
Would open up hunting possibilities for technicians who don't
have the ability to scavenge in the warehouse area.
Would also be nice to have more critters vulnerable to electricity.
off of Kit's site i see 7, levels 1,7,9,20,21,28,30. With only
two out of the whole range that drop treasure (levels 9 and 30).The nearest after 30 (grags) is Arachnos Type I maintenance drone (53)
this is a huge gap for hunters who use electric weapons/spells. _________________ >You allow Stilldawn to undress you. |

Not to downplay your valid point, but many creatures can have a resist that either ties or is close to their greatest weakness and that's something you wouldn't be aware of. Overall, there aren't that many greatly electrical resistant creatures out there. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

You're right, I'm still trying to learn the resistences, i think cold got the worst end of the bargain in the 1-30 range with 17 critters being cold resist.Even if there weren't more electric weak critters instated, the
most important reason (to me) for my post was about lower level drones.
so lower level techs could utilize the salvage system without having
to resort to having upperlevel hunters provide the kills. _________________ >You allow Stilldawn to undress you. |

BTW, since we're talking about low level creatures, it's worth noting that these tend to have far lower resists than higher level ones. For instance a high level creature might be 80% or 90% resistant to some damage types, whereas something low level may cap out at 3%, 6%, 10% etc. So resists are a consideration, but a small one, when it comes to low level hunting. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Not to downplay the valuable nuggets of information
on critter resistances (makes me wanna test pulse more, on borkins)
but in both your replies, you didn't address the possibility of
easier drone/robotic creatures for lower skilled techs to salvage.
Just seems that a nifty new system like salvage could be more enjoyed by more technicians, with the work put into creating it. _________________ >You allow Stilldawn to undress you. |

i'd assume that they get to do so at a lower level then 30th,
could be wrong.I've had some "young" techs ask me for parts.
It's been posted only two techs are able to salvage in the warehouse
per Kit's post. Accurate or inaccurate i don't know. _________________ >You allow Stilldawn to undress you. |

The current drones were a combo of efforts by Drake and Marduk. It seems like I wouldn't be the first person to expect to speculate on the addition of more or what levels. Like Yaru, I actually also don't know if younger techs would benefit or not. I also wouldn't want to see a situation where high level techs farmed this stuff for parts. However, in the end, this is a matter for Drake to address. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

If lower-level drones were thrown in for lower-level techs to salvage, you could always throw in a similar effect as treasure has. If you're too far above or below the skill (re: level) of the mob, you don't get jack squat if you attempt to salvage it for parts.
Though, that brings up the inevitable possibility of secondary tech-characters being created just for salvaging mechanical gnats for parts. Dun dun dun.

because it makes sense for freshly hatched spiders to have iron pipes laying around. _________________ >You allow Stilldawn to undress you. |

The point wasn't that something as small as a gnat would have gadget parts.

You want something for low-level chars to salvage. Therefore, they should hunt something small. Mechanical gnats. Ha ha. Also: the absurdity of high-level players creating new chars to farm said mechanical gnats. |

or lower level robots could, logically, be made with crappier parts.
so while a tech could make a gadget using low level parts, it won't be as good as if they took the time to fight something bigger and tougher for the really good stuff. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Yeah, at around 10th you can start making gadgets. Zachary (when he was a tech) could make the same quality of gadgets as Kit can. It's all in the parts you use.
And you find mostly crappy parts when you salvage the drones around now. I think it would be AWESOME to have lower level bots anyhow....or to be able to have something easier to get into. Finding parts isn't that important to me at the moment because 1, no one needs anything made anymore; 2, it's so so hard for Kit to get into the part of the warehouse WITH the drones; and 3, good parts are hard to find, both through SALVAGE and through normal hunting.
Besides you don't need to be a tech to SALVAGE. Jade can do it just fine. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage
