|
|
Kit: Technician, level 51, perception 61, luck cord
Hunting times: 8:30am-10am, 10:45am-1:45pm
Parts found:
casings: 3
circuitboards: 8
plastic chips: 2
glass: 4
switch: 1
coil: 0
socket: 0
reflector: 5
wire: 0
transmitter: 2
reciever: 2
pipes: 0
tubes: 2
Everything but 3 circuitboards are low quality.
Parts I need to make any gadget at all: coils and sockets. Wire's sold at the store so that's not an issue.
Buying parts for 5 times what you can tell them for.
Parts aquired through buying or being given them:
casings: 2
circuitboards: 5
plastic chips: 2
glass: 1
switch: 2
coil: 0
socket: 0
reflector: 4
wire: 0
transmitter: 0
reciever: 1
pipes: 4
tubes: 3
Four of these were above low quality.
Other issues: needing the same size socket and reflectors.
Having consistantly low quality parts.
Having a ton of one type of parts (usually broken circuitboards, low quality casing, and lots of grimy reflectors) and none of several other parts needed to make a gadget.
Remedy suggestions:
1. Junkyard. Going to Echak or Jareya and (a) paying a fee to the owner to use the junkyard for an hour (or however long) or (b) paying a fee based on the weight of the items you SALVAGE and keep when exiting the junkyard.
2. A wandering salesman. Like the droidguy and other people, this salesman will wander around and have different parts for sale at different times. Rotating stock between good and low quality parts and other types. Perhaps being able to trade parts with her. Give her one part for another. She could also sell crappy gadgets we can salvage for parts. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

i'll add them to my highlight strings. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

It's variable. Right now Zap and Kit will take anything buy fuze kits, circuitboards and casing. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Okay then, any plastic chips, sockets, or coils. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I...err, don't see the necessity of this thread considering you have a thread concerning this very topic, but OK. _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

This thread I'm simply posting part finding frequency when I hunt. You should too, not make frivoulous comments.
7:10-8:05am
2 casings
1 socket
Lina gave me:
1 rusty coil
1 warped chip
1 shoddy pipe _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I really should make a bread slice frequency thread, too. I've noticed a sharp decline in their drop rate.

I don't really get much junk at all, which I'm guessing might be the general problem. Sean said he found 30 parts in an hour (but threw them out...). I'll start keeping a tally of other junk I find in boxes too. Though it seems some parts drop much more frequently then others. Like casings and circuitboards. It's very frustrating trying to make gadgets when you have 10 of one part type and none of the other.
Edit: Are there more types of circuitboards and casing then say chips and coils? This is what I have...working from memory of what I've seen.
(3) Coil: copper, rusty, refined copped
(10) casing: dented, camo, stained, polished, etched, iron, metal, reinforced, steel, hard
(5) chips: round, slanted, warped, nicked, cracked
(7) circuitboards: hardened, pristine, broken, fractured, dusty, standard, worn
(3) sockets: socket, small, large.
That could also account for finding more of one thing and not another. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Maybe that's the point.
You know, so you're not completely self-reliant. You have to deal with other people and hope that they'll give you what you want. I doubt you're meant to be able to find every single component on a regular basis.

PS: I await your response on how this statement relates to tailoring. _________________

It's not as if I haven't asked over the comms. Frequently. Once every 30 minutes. To buy parts from people. The only person that said they find 30 an hour threw them out. I'm not saying I don't believe them, but going by the people that I buy from or give them to me (Stilldawn, Eartheart, Inaira, Adelina, Yaru) and by what Kit and Zap find hunting, it's not very much at all. The problem is mostly in frequency of some parts. And I think Drake needs this information to gauge wether of not to tweak things.
Now, if you're not going to be helpful and post on topic, I'm going to ignore you. All you wind up doing is making more to read that doesn't have any basis whatsoever on the topic at hand. Which is part frequency. Your performer hunts, doesn't he? Why don't you keep a record of parts you find too. It could be helpful in tailoring down drop rates. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Somewhere I must have missed Drake asking for such info.
This morning so far the parts I found were a pipe and a switch. The other day I found a lot of circuitboards, glass and pipes. _________________ Stay true to yourself no matter the cost and you'll always know who you are. |

Other gadgets that will be using those other components will be coming out. It's not like the rest of the stuff you find will always be junk, just has some patience. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |
