All sarcasm aside, that doesn't make sense. I've done this in DR before but there are 1000s of players there and being able to hold an item for a year is nothing. Here...well...Live could happen any time. Why would anyone horde stuff if later resale is unforseeable?

Novelty.
Incidentally, approximately 70% of the sun-fans bought are in vaults right now, and most owned by persons who have either 0 in exotic weapons, or trained it marginally shortly thereafter.
In related news, the Ravoh troupe will be making another stop sometime soon, but entry won't be as free.

i know i bought my pair because i like the idea of running around with flaming fans.
i may train exotics, but not until i take care of my current skills.
