What do you think about dying in Healrahv?
Death in HR is a joke. I would like to see it become more of an issue\problem.

I am of the opinion that death in HR is too light on PC's.

It's too easy to get rescued in hard to get to places. Usually within 5 minutes of anyone dying, they have been magically teleported from where they were, no matter how far away they are, and been revived already.

One medic can sit around all day long and cater to the needs of the entire population of Haelrahv. I think that's a bit detrimental to the medic profession in general.

**SUGGESTION(S)**

One major deal is the rifts potions. The fact that anyone can use them to rift a dead body out of a hunting area is part of what makes it soooo easy. There are far less psionics with 'call deader' spell than people with rifts potions.

The potion of rifts could be modified. Instead of the teleportation being automatic, a rift would appear to CC requiring the PC to manually step through it. Or in the case of a rescue mission, dragging the dead body through it.

I know Faith is already working on a timer, that's great. I like the fact that players can't 'die' forever, I hated that possibility in DR. But as it is now, dying in HR is nothing. I think PC's are 'spoiled' now with things being the way they have been for so long, nobody fears dying in even the slightest, because they know that in a matter of minutes after their death, they will be alive again.

gameplay wise, i hate when yaru dies, but that's just because i hate it when my character dies. i want to treat it as a bad thing.

reality wise, it only means i can't gain around 100 exp because i doubt i'd be dead over 10 minutes.

It's Beta. We're testing the game. Some things have to be easy.

i'd rather test out death mechanics now and have it hashed out so its ready for live than wait until live for trevor/faith/whoever to test things and find out what's good/bad to have in the game from a player perspective.

i'm not wanting death to be hard, but i'm also not wanting people to not care about dying.

I realize we are in a 'test' phase but I don't believe we should ignore balance completely. I think those who don't fully understand that statement might understand more if I said, "since things don't matter here and are for testing only, we'll be resetting items and money every month" or something. We're looser on things given the nature of the game right now, but we still reasonable balance.

Faith and I have discussed means to make death more of an issue in HR and we're going to follow through with this modifications. Some will only happen in Live, but much can and will be done sooner, mostly by Faith.

I do care about dying. I might not 'rot' but I could still be an idiot and accidently restore. I'm already anal about images. My fees are pretty big now. Or people could be scripting and not see me die. Or a medic could be asleep. And then there's the death penalty. Everytime Kit almost dies I hyperventilate. It's scary!

aren't fees based on level, not by how often you go?

Everytime I go it's a little bit more. I tend to image twice a level.

At level 100 with over 3 million exp, Tshars fee is like $300.

i should have been more clear. i think it is based on exp level, ie the amount of experience you have.

The frequency of visits has no bearing on the cost to image.

because i was lazy and decided to test, it seems that the image cost is:

Code:
exp/10,000

i base this on the fact that yaru has 1,800k exp and it costs him $180 to reimage, while my other guy has 110k exp and it costs him $11 to reimage.

Then the slightly increased XP is the reason for the slightly higher price each time. Thanks Yaru.

And may I remind you that in Live the world will be a MUCH bigger place, so the chances of having a medic within 5 minutes walking distance will be a lot slimmer. Unless you all invite your friends along NOW to fill the world up even more.

That's correct.
