You attempt to disarm the trap on a shabby silbein vessel.
Roundtime: 22 sec.
You feel fully rested.

Shareen Soshade begins to try to disarm a trap on a shabby silbein vessel.
This vessel has been rigged so that pressure will cause small venom-tipped pins in a series of tiny holes to extend forward and poison the unwary. Knowing this, you carefully apply some gaoun putty to the surface to fill and cover the holes. The putty quickly expands and hardens, allowing the trap to be triggered harmlessly.
Roundtime: 20 sec.

Shareen Soshade applies some gaoun putty to the front of a shabby silbein vessel and seems pleased with the results.

Same with picking. First person can succeed a disarm, second person fail right after. Seems odd.

The most likely reason is that the skillcheck is done the moment you use the disarm verb, however, the result is not _displayed_ until the first roundtime is over.

It's a lot more complicated than that.

What worries me, is how Shareen will begin disarming, then I will a moment later. She succeeds, thus disarming it, then I immediatly blow the trap, thus destroying the contents, poisoning myself or whatever. Just appears that one the process has been started, It completes regardless of status of the item.

Beau's right; there's nothing checking whether one, two, or four-hundred persons are in the process of disarming a box. Since success is determined ahead of time and two disarm tasks are going off at once, any combination of results can occur. Technically she could set off a crusher, thus resulting in debris, and you could fail immediately after, making debris of the debris. I'm not sure anyone ever predicted that more than one person (for whatever given reason) would be disarming/picking a locked box at the same time.

Interesting thought: would it be possible for the piles of debris to hint at what they destroyed?

Quote:

While probably taking a leap of faith on the guess, you think it is fair to wager that this pile of debris is composed of the remnants of some aroai stone, some cash, and THE ULTIMATE ULTRA RARE HAHAHA YOU SUCK.

Hmm?

Possible, but not likely. It wouldn't be worth the resource cost.
