Does equal 'only', though. I think. _________________

I never said my only reason for playing other characters was for reallocations. There's lots of reasons for other characters...mostly RP ones. For instance, I've forgone my artisan for a bit in favor of a performer...not to train at the moment....but because me and few other people have an RP in mind that I can't use Kit for.
I'd rather RP then level ANY DAY. Hurray for RP! _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

RP, right.
Some people seem to think they know how to roleplay becuase they can call someone daddy, or mommy. Or whatever. Just because you can come up with a storyline for your mule, doesn't make it not a mule. And no, Kit, this isn't directed towards you.
Few reason why I think some people have other characters...
1. To be in more than one relationship.
2. More money.
3. To get things they couldn't regularly get.
Or...
4. A way to get more alterations. _________________

Heh that's one thing I can't stand. Someone and their mule on the same alteration list, even if it qualifies as their secondary character. I hardly even join alteration lists as Tshar as it is, I like to give younger\newer people a chance for alterations cause my characters have plenty. Sometimes I even offer to pay for an alteration for someone that doesn't have the money. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

yeah, it is definitely annoying to see two characters played by the same person on the same alteration list, both unique personalities or not.
not because it doesn't make senes for them both to get something, but because it comes off as greedy, especially if the list only has a limited number of slots. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Well good. I refuse to have my character call another character that's the same age as they are mommy or daddy. I very much like the kidnapping and murder RP I have right now. Very amusing.
I have been known to jump on the same list more then once...as in, I get on a list, go in, come out...list is still open, so I jump on again. Also, I've been known to give up my spot, most recently when Siva arrived, before that, when Hannah was making the two things for people.
I've also handed over money to characters that complain that they don't have enough money. My tracker has one alteration...Kit has too many...mostly clothes. ^.^; GM-alterers come around so often that there's no REASON to put two characters on the same list. I did it with the Knickknacker sisters, but concidering they drained me of 800k, I don't think people minded. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

This is just a random observation, but I've noticed whenever someone doesn't specifically point a finger at you (or, in this case, specifically say that they're not pointing a finger at you), you seem to have a need to justify or clarify what you've done in the past.

It's called providing examples contrary to the generalization. Because I can only speak for myself (and I'd rather do this then generalize), I tend to call upon my past experiences. There's no justification. I am simply providing you with proof that it's not always as you think it is. I'd rather give actual examples then hypothetical ones. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

If you don't know if your other characters are mules or not - ask other people to tell you honestly how they perceive you. Your actions tend to speak far more volumes than your words or your intent. |
I'm not saying you specifically run mules...frankly, Dzynna is quite the recluse...and all the sexual connotation completely embarasses Riwa so she tries her best to avoid it, so I have no idea who is who and who is playing what character. Nor do I really care. As long as a character is actually RPd and not some slave mule, I don't care how many characters or accounts anyone has.
But I absolutely agree with Icelai on this, if 10 people say x (based on your actions) and you say y...chances are x is correct. Actions speak louder than words. _________________

And neither does that post. And neither does this one! Oh know!
My point is, just because ten people think one thing doesn't mean it's right. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

no, pretty sure my post had the purpose of not trying to have the thread derail into a religious debate to smokescreen the issue at hand.
you're free to say you don't have mules. that's cool. but, regardless of if you consider your characters mules or not, the thread was if having mules is bad. if your characters aren't mules, then you really don't need to defend yourself, sinces noone brought up your characters until you started mentioning them. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!
