At this point, only mixing has been updated for NSKILLS, but some other aspects will be modified also in the future. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

speaking of nskills....
I recently reallocated and noticed all my nskills were wiped away so having to start again. Is this intended?
And secondly, is there anyway that we could have a set mode to where we dont have to be on the nskill listing? I really don't care to have people know exactly how much i train certain things ya know?

since different nskills have different learning rates for different professions, i'd say that it is intended. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Not so much intended as not intentionally protected or excluded. The nature of NSKILLS is temporary, it's a test sort of thing. I'm actually going to wipe them for everyone pretty soon.

At some point I'll set it up so it respects your SET RANKING setting. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Does that mean we'll be switching over to the new XP system pretty soon then? I was thinking of reallocating, but I won't if we're going to be getting our skill points back again.
Which brings me to by question: When we go into the new XP system, will we have all of our skill set to 0 and then train them again the new way? _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

There's still a lot to be done but we're getting closer every day. The reason I want to wipe nskills is to get an idea for how balanced gains are on specific sytstems.

I'd use your reallocation. In fact... I may as well drop this bomb now: I doubt there's going to -be- reallocation post-release of this system. I can't see much good coming from building a new reallocation system really. If we do put in a reallocation, it would be only for your skill point related skills, you'd lose gained by use skills... so I don't know that the time spent making that possible would be time well spent.

Your skills will be set to 0 and you'll receive the number of skill points noted in COMPLEVEL to train with. You'll retrain skills and stats. From there, you'll raise skills by gaining new points via experience gain and by use. It's all detailed in other threads and NEWS 60. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Will we be getting to redo out traits/flaws, too, then? Because I assume with the new exp/skill system (as well as when the new magic/psi stuff is completed) there would be a need to fiddle around with them a little for some of us.

Yes, you'll get to rechoose traits and flaws. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

i forget...and well to lazy to search so...
when the exp change over happens do we get the chance to change professions as well or just have our skills set to 0?
And if theres no more reallocations post exp changeover, do we get to keep the reallocations we have now? _________________ Neifl Cacambo - "Anyone have change for a tampon?"

I think Trevor meant that there'd be no way to reallocate after the skill change.
And this is from a post back in July:
HR-Trevor wrote: |
A partial reallocation process would take place wherein each character can retrain skills and stats, but not change race, profession, traits/flaws, or physical features. Players would need to restudy spellsongs, spells, alchemy mixtures, poisons, etc. Changes to the study/research process may be implemented. |
It looks like the traits/flaws part has changed, so maybe other stuff has, as well, but that's what I could find about it. |

It is unlikely we will allow profession changes. If you'd like to change professions, I'd suggest getting a reallocation before the new system is released and using it. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

We'll give a lot of advance notice. Whether a lot is a week or two weeks or what I don't know, but let's assume a week at minimum, and maybe two weeks. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
