So not everyone wants to get married. Or maybe there's a birthday or an aniversery (I love how I spell) coming up. What if we just wanna throw a party for no reason?
Well, how about GM assisted parties?!
These would be a lot different from weddings. No containers or jewelry of verbed stuff, maybe 1 or 2 slots for a party outfit.
People throwing the party could make party favors and design food and pick a venue. And then make invitations! Maybe they could write music for it too!
Anyhow, that's just me...wanting to party plan.
It'd be fun for bachlor (again, spelling!) parties or wedding showers too! _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Since ya brought it up i wanted to write and say....
Why do you have to have a license to rent the damn lodge?
The one time I had my masquerade ball there I had to have two of my characters sign a license just so i could rent the hall
And now that Im married, if i want to have another party there Josie herself cant rent it cuz she's married...
I know the lodge was spose to be for weddings and such but its a perfect place to have a party or just rent for the day and spend it with a few friends or something.
Anyway, can we fix it to where it doesnt need a license, or make some other lodgish place with the same stuff except the chapel that people can rent who just wanna spend time there or have a party? _________________ Neifl Cacambo - "Anyone have change for a tampon?"

Let us not forget that our GM's are already stretched thin enough.
Josie your idea for renting the place would be nice IF people didnt take advantage of it and just keep it rented out for themselves. Maybe put a limit on how many times one account holder can rent it out for themselves.
Maybe if a catering store could be made where we could buy party packages, where everything we need is bought in one box. Would take care of having to run around to a million different stores to get all the things you might want for a party. _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

Granted people want to rent it for themselves...is why i brought it up in the first place, because theres times where me and a few others just want a place where no one can bother us where we can have some fun dancing, drinking, bein merry, swimming and such all in one place. As of now the time limit on the lodge is 3 hours and i dont think its very unreasonable at all. Here's my ideas....
1. Romantic Party for Two - party includes: champagne, flowers, limited
foods, access to all of the lodge 25,000
2. Birthday Party - For those who want to show they are old - party
package includes : cake and ice cream, drinks, balloons, confetti,
access to all of lodge except honeymoon suite 15,000
3. Any other kind of party - Engagement, Balls, or whatever - party
includes catered food from upstairs, drinks, flowers (basically
everything the wedding party one does except the rings and stuff).
Access to all of lodge 25,000
If people want to pay 25,000 to spend 3 hours doing whatever...why stop em? just my two cents _________________ Neifl Cacambo - "Anyone have change for a tampon?"

When I said renting it out for themselves I meant as in keeping it rented out as thier own personal psuedo home. _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

and since you brought up birthdays...... not to bring up DR but I did like how you were able to tell your exact age and when your birthday was. _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

I think it would be a good way to get money out of the system. Parties wouldn't be cheap...anywhere from 500k to a million dollars. It would be no where near the level of weddings (which Rosie does) and maybe there could be a waiting list for it....
I'd want a GM assisted party so I could customize food and invitations and little gifts for people.
I think there should be a limit to parties per standard account, just like there is weddings to keep people from abusing it.
Venues that would be fun to rent out ONLY for guests with invitations:
The Lodge. Loshei island. Parts of the Z'dan. Yosho or Ero manor. The Connection. Or any of the bars and resturants around Llanfair. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

GM Assisted parties...yah that sounds cool Kit, like the ideas
As for the Lodge, your right Still I don't want people to think they can just keep renting it over and over just to veg in and not be bothered
Maybe have a once a day per account added on to it or something
But I really dont think it should be based on getin a marriage license, I mean sure I can go around it by having two of my other characters get a license then just using them to get in but thats alot of work...lol _________________ Neifl Cacambo - "Anyone have change for a tampon?"

Like TBF said, the GMs have *way* too much on their plate right now for us to even seriously consider something as involved as an assisted party.
It's a decent idea but I wouldn't expect to get a positive answer on it right now. _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

just because say (for example) Trevor is very busy and has a lot on his plate, it doesn't mean the others do as well. then again, they might all be busy coding different things for live.
anyway, in the event that the GMs have time for weddings, and in the event noone wants a wedding, i don't see why players can just hold a party. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

All the active staff have a lot of things on their plates, none of them are waiting for projects to do. Some do have more spare room on their plates than others and may be able to accomodate requests, so requests are fine and welcome, as long as we understand a request is just that, and even if a particular idea has much merit, it may not necessarily be implemented.
If the persons suggesting ideas acknowledge and understand that and can make them without feeling stiffed if their idea isn't put into the game (and I think most of us are capable of doing this) then I see no reason not to suggest those ideas, "just in case". _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I didn't mean for it to seem as if I was demanding (and looking back I don't think I was), Enverdi. I did say: "It would be fun." I like to give suggestions, which may or may not be used. If the GMs didn't know what some people wanted, then they'd be guessing all the time!
This folder is made for suggestions. Rummie and I were having a conversation last night about how it would be really fun to throw a party since Kit isn't getting married in the forseeable future.
I could just buy the wedding and have a party instead...but I don't need all those outfit slots....and I don't want Kit penalized having a wedding for 18 months because of it either!
But having a GM party might be kinda fun with food and invitations and a little place that only invited people can get into where we can be silly. ^.^ And making party favors for people would be nice too! <3
But as I said, it was just a suggestion. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage
