trevor specifically said that if artisans plan to make the best tailored goods, that we should see trackers for materials.

beyond that...

drake said you'll possibly be able to dig up gadget parts at the excavation sites.

drake also said they'll be of a sub-par quality.

you seemed okay with that.

why, then, is it suddenly unfair if i said "it would be cool if artisans could restore those non-electronic parts for techs, giving them the option to use them better than they previously could".

and i'm wondering what creation system is 'just' for artisans.

No, I'd want TECHS to be able to fix that stuff. As Drake said, we'd have to repair it.

ah well. your stance is that you want a system that doesn't require outside help at all (which goes against trevor's recent plan for creation systems, well, the tailoring changes at least.), and mine is that i want restoring things found while digging at the excavation sites to stay an artisan boon. we'll leave it at that.

It's not that I don't want YARU to have it. I'm just being tech-selfish because Gadgets are sooooo cool to me.

Tailoring is soooooo cool to Yaru. He should be able to gain exceptional skins just as well as any Tracker!

PS: I had to. It was just so wide open.

yaru wouldn't have it since he can't restore yet, anyway.

i just have an interest in keeping excavation restorations as an artisan-only thing.

the making gadgets into gadgets thing is completely tech only. heck, improving upon the parts to make them work better in gadgets is tech only, too. i'm talking about getting the rust, dust, and grime off the gadgets from a specific area.

so, even if an artisan could restore a gear or something, the tech would still be the only one to make it into a +10 gear or whatever.

I guess I don't see it as a restore things. Techs will most likely have to repair most of the stuff they find for gadgets. Restore is more along the lines of restoring artwork. Not repairing it use in machinary.

it's not.

just so the quote isn't taken too out of context, it was in reply to a statement saying "artisans shouldn't be able to repair armor and non-electronic weapons, they're supposed to work with art".

And a technician is a skilled craftsman that deals primarily in robotics and electronics, both creating and fixing said electronics and robotics. I see Kit as banging around a chunk of metal he digs up to make it into the right shape for a device.

You can hardly say that a cog or a sprocket is electronic or robotic in nature. It's used for machines, sure, but by themselves they're nothing more than a piece of metal that is rather useless when not used in tandum with other similar pieces. There is nothing magical or special about inanimate hunks of metal that would make them so only a Technician could properly restore them to excellent quality.

My plan was to let anyone be able to fix/repair them, provided they had sufficient repair skill (eh? *nudge*) and a few other factors.

Of course, techs will be the only ones able to put them to any use.

Thanks Drake! That's what I was hoping you.

No way! You guys wouldn't know the first thing about repairing technical equiptment. Banners and jewelry, yes. Components for gadgets? No way.

I'm sorry, I'm really not trying to carry on an argument that you've obviously given up on. It's just annoying to have you argue for technicians to be the only ones able to participate in the scavenging of gadget components... and then have you pull a sudden 180. Though, I understand because it's coming from Drake's clarification. So, there's no real need to respond to this.

Yes, you're trying to prolong an arguement and I've been ignoring all of your comments in this thread. But just to clarify, I agreed with Yaru and I said that as long as techs could do it too, I'd be okay with it.

He's trying to? He said there was no need to reply, yet you still did. If you were ignoring all his comments, then why'd you stop?
