that makes no sense. it was a bug. |
::flail:: But Trevor just said naturally aggressive creatures attack anyone they search out! Or did he mean that he fixed the fact that naturally aggressive creatures attack anyone they search out and now they don't? _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Allow me to explain.
Naturally aggressive creatures or creatures that hate you (because you've attacked them), i.e. creatures that normally would attack you if you are standing in a room, will search for hiders if they can find nothing to attack. If they spot you hiding, they'll attack you (which also serves to reveal you).
This is not a new feature.
However, scavenged beings are docile except to threats to their masters. So if say, Glim, is hanging out in CC, well none of you can attack Glim because PvP is disabled, and even if you could, you'd have to attack him before you were deemed a threat. Once you attacked him, his pet whatever he has would attack you relentlessly.
If you were no threat, this docile being would be indifferent toward you. even if in life it were normally very aggressive (like say a borkin). However, this feature was not working properly for the search for hiders code. This feature put no restraints on the creature, so it was free to act like it normally acts when not an undead minion of a Psionic, in this case, as a bloodthirsty beast attacking anything on sight.
In fact, if Glim were to have hid in the room, it would have even attacked him! And to boot, since it attacked him, it probably would have marked itself as a threat and tried to attack itself!
This lack of proper thought and poor behavior is what I fixed today, after seeing the post from Dante. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I'm sure you can't, but since I have no idea how this scavenging thing works, I'll ask..could a Psionic bring Thekko to CC as their personal pet? |

lesser scavenge has a level cap. it only works on critters that are either 20 or 30 and below.
not sure if the cap is 20 or 30 because noone wants to test any of the critters between 20 and 30, since they're all on the ghost ship. it doesn't work on gragrok, arakus, or beetles, though, so it's definitely under 30. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Lesser Scavenge has a cap of level 20 critter.
Greater Scavenge has a cap of level 50 critter + a small cap increase based on the Psi's skill. This makes it theoretically possible to snag the Ruga' Sshliss but I'm going to put a block on him specifically very soon. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

hey trevor,
is it intended for critters to lose their weapons when revived? _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I could not reproduce this bug. Can you verify it is still broken and let me know which critter lost its weapons if so? _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

>look
[Llanfair, Northern Road]
No longer really a road anymore, the muddy thoroughfare degenerates into a muddy path leading into the swamp itself. A sour gassy smell assails your nostrils as you get closer to the wetlands.
You also see a saifbraelsh sign splashed with mud, an unfinished camp fire and a borkin warrior.
It is dark here.
You notice an exit leading east.
>look warr
While not known for their intellect, the borkin are rugged, if primitive, race. While rather short, they have strong bodies and defining upturned tusks. This one bears the markings of a great warrior.
He is holding a rusty chain and sickle in his right hand and nothing in the left.
On level cap:
As Trevor said, it's level 20. Borkin warriors are level 19(according to Gabriel's list.) Adult aerok are 20, but not in game.(I thought they were, but apparently not)
The next highest critter(also according to the list Gabriel has) is the elder kamohakun at 22nd, which I cannot scavenge.

ah, nevermind then. I remember when Glim was summoning when I passed the page to him, his borkin would get healed and lose it's equipment. i guess whatever did that changed from something or another, heh. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Would it be possible to add a descriptor to minions to denote them as such? Either in the look or as an adjective like "an undead royal guard" or "a sickly-looking mottled gragok"? _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

I am going to be adding a feature to allow psionics to dismiss their minions. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
