1) you can buy the notice at the place, but once you put it somewhere you can never pick it back up. floor, backpack, vault, whatever. once it's there it's stuck. Morrigan was nice enough to save me from that mistake before today.

Morrigan fixed this I believe, I verified it's fixed.

2) the six pack of booze at the place is empty. there were some very disappointed alcoholics fishing yesterday.

Fixed.

3) (edit: okay, so this is more a tangent request, heh) will there ever be a situation that allows us to specifically hunt for the boxes or things contained within, like deep sea treasure diving? seriously, the stuff is some cool stuff. it's right up there with excavation when it comes to enjoyable relic hunting. it will also give people who train swimming something to do that doesn't just involve swimming to a place to hunt.

I'd love to do various diving type excursions with rewards as well as other types of fishing like using nets for example. But, this will all probably wait til Live. Right now I'm doing the 'really necessary' stuff. I could justify the boxes in fishing because it gave another way to get the spell pages and it wasn't too hard to add, and I needed to modify fishing for NSKILLS anyway.

Since you mentioned realism and fishing it got me thinking......

My idea of realistic fishing would be

You would actually need to know atleast a small amount about fishing

Lakes and ponds would have a higher chance of catching fish due to thel
likelyhood that they would be stocked

Sea fishing would be less likely to catch

Lakes and ponds would teach less due to the above mentioned

Sea fishing would require more skill but teach more

There would be more of a chance of no catch and snags

Of course tackle would be reusable with the chance to lose them with a
line break or full swallow

weather conditions would affect fishing results

certain color baits working better in certain light and weather situations (is overcast you go with a brighter color bait or tackle)

for ammusement value stink bait to haul in some winner fish but that people smell on you for some time after

Ice fishing during winter months

being able to study to know the best bait for the area, or survey to get an
idea of what fish are in the area

Live bait with the exception of worms would not be usable from one fishing trip to the next

A chance to screw up the cleaning process and end up with a shredded unusable or sellable fish

Just for fun

Gah. If I were trying to emulate a world with realism to its fullest I'd load up a copy of Flight Simulator.

If we were being fully realistic to our genre we'd have no magic, no humans, and a host of other things...not even getting into the usual fodder for this discussion like bodily functions.

Every fish has preferences in bait. Not just the type of bait (spoon, jig, worm, etc.) but also color and live or artifical bait factor. Some fish bite more during the day or night.

In addition, each fish has an intellect rating, a fight rating, and a stamina rating.

While we didn't pattern the system after full realism, it is still nonetheless a very complex system.

I actually really like fishing and gutting and selling the fish. It's much better then foraging.

Keep me informed on this if you would. What I'd like to know:

- Length of time you spent fishing.
- Amount of boxes acquired.
- Amount of fish acquired.
- Amount of snapped lines.

Rough figures anyway. Don't need to know how many times you lost bait.

been fishing for around two hours straight.

unless the bait is lost, each cast gets me a fish.
i think i got one snapped line.
have yet to get a box.
using eel cuttings at the secluded beach.

and, uh, i got my bait stolen like five times in a row now. should it happen that often?
