Actually, I've never been hit by Zamde's drums of fear. Performer spellsongs were an example. And if it shut off spellsongs, it damn well better shut off speech and comms. |
And cyberparts...althought, cyberparts run on personal essence, not on electricity. So maybe just electronic gear and not cyber bits. |
...but we were talking about a cone of silence type thing, not an EMP. :p _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Cyberparts don't "run on" essence, they reduce the body's total amount of essence. Your brain sends electric pulses that tell the chips in the cyberparts what to do, just like your brain in RL tells your hand to type nonsense. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

Going by that, your future EMP grenades should be instant-death weapons. You know, cardiac electrical impulses and all.
omg I've uncovered the secret

I also canned the EMP grenade idea. But I do have other ideas for disabling tech devices, only they'll be a little more focused.
More gadgets are planned, but I'm working on something else right now. No details.

Actually, there is sound frequency that can cause feelings of fear. The military is currently testing machines that emit this vibration. It's part of their desire to find non-lethal methods of force. There is also the developement of a machine that can cause an odor that does not disappate quickly in the air to make people temporarily sick to their stomach -- it's ingenius, it's a mixture of foul and pleasant smells that mess with your digestive track. They are also working on a device that will emit a sonic wave strong enough to make people feel as if their head is exploding without causing long term damage. |
The military is also working on a gas that will cause enemy demoralization by causing homosexual thoughts towards their fellow troops. Just cause something is planned doesn't mean it's going to be implemented or even that it's a good idea. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

As everyone knows, EMP does not affect living tissue. So unless you had a mechanical brain or heart, I wouldn't worry about it. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

Sorry, for some reason I was under the impression than an EMP was an actual pulse wave of energy. But google doesn't agree. Even though I don't understand how it can overload circuitry and pretty much anything else that carries electrical current... and not someone's nervous system (and more importantly, the heart's own electrical activity).
But whatev.

Well, the moment my uncle -- who is a weapon specialist for the military -- or one of the various Science Channel tech show things, or one of the govt/science websites I visit have anything about a gas that promotes homosexuality as a demoralizer is another day I'm sure most of us will go and picket. Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, not a weapon. And suddenly wanting to suck another dude's cock during a battle doesn't mean you're gonna drop your pants right there. That was pretty offensive if it was just meant as a joke. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that. I was just frustrated that all of the sites I was finding were talking about how to induce an EMP and the affects of an EMP to technology, but none of them would touch on why it wouldn't do anything to humans.

That's absolutely horrible.

He told the BBC: "It's important to point out that only those proposals which are deemed appropriate, based on stringent human effects, legal, and international treaty reviews are considered for development or acquisition." |

"literally hundreds" of project ideas, but that "none of the systems described in that [1994] proposal have been developed". |
As you can see, such things are deamed horrible anyway. Super sonic bombs and 'boning men' bombs are not in the same league, obviously. One was a proposition. One is actually built and in testing phase. See the difference? _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I've read that article before, and I have to agree with Drake... The military isn't past looking at _anything_ as a potential weapon, I'm sure we'd all be scared if say...they developed the power to destroy an atam and unleash the power that lay within... but that doesn't mean it'd ever be used. Nah. _________________ If there is one thing in the world that I know, love conquers all, it trancends time and space, defies all odds, and can bring you back from the darkness, it is the guiding light that helps bring you in from the rough stormy seas of life, and it remains even after you have gone.
