Could you make it so that we could write on the cover of the books we make? and hurry and let us buy blank pages again so we can write story books to sell to each other and have like journals that way?

journals are for sale at Adelai-whatever's chateau out the north gate of Llanfair.

They were sold out...like the second day.

well there's no reason to lower the value of journals with this system.

not like spellbooks were intended to replace journals, or be for writing in.

they're more like a binder to me.

a red leather book inset with a gleaming diamond lightning bolt

They are just books. In which you can put whatever in. And I have a journal voucher far as that goes. I just like the idea of being able to write whatever on those pages. And be able to label each book by writing on the outside of them. Spellbook. Poetry Book. Journal. Business Book. Potions Book. ect.

that's cool and all, and i agree that in theory any book should be able to be written in, but if a spellbook functions as a spellbook AND a journal, then the point/value/purpose of journals ceases.

I'm also saying be able to write books. As in a book about bob buying a space ship and going to earth and meeting apes or something. Not just journals. Be able to write actual stories.

unless they stopped selling pages, as of last night you were able to buy pages, write on them, and THEN stick them in a book.

you just can't write after they're put in.

I have to disagree. A journal is for private thoughts. They're limited to 25 pages. You can't add or remove pages. Bookbinding is not JUST for spellbooks. Its for making any and all books.

as of right now, i am under the impression that the bookstore is for making spellbooks. just because it says book instead of spellbook doesn't change that.

if the book system is for an actual publishing system, hey, i'm all for it.

Bookcrafting was for both spellbooks and personal books, actually. We'd originally (Valla and I) started with a goal of the latter, but since the spellbook was the obviously cooler part of the idea, personal books took a back seat. Which is part of why the regular written pages stuff is sort of wonky; I'd tried to get them working at the last minute so we could release them in sync with the spell pages, and it seems I overlooked a bug somewhere. That's my bad.

Thanks Mickey. I think the book binding system is really cool.

Here's some suggestions for books (not spellbooks):

*Different colored/textured paper.
*Putting normal stationary into books to turn it into a scrap book and to be able to take out pages.
*Being able to supply the dedlas oil to a certain page. (apply dedlas oil to page 5 in my book)
*Being able to put a page into a book at any spot. (flip book to 5. insert page into book. -- this page becomes the new page 5 and the old page 5 becomes page 6 and so on.)
*Colored inks or 'fonts:

Code:
>read book
[The words on this page are written in a tight, block letter font in gold metallic ink]
"You remind me of the babe," he said, a smirk on his lips.
"What babe?" his evil goblin minion asked.
"The babe with the power," he replied, his curvy eyebrows raising.
"What power?"
"The power of voodoo!"
"Who-do?" the goblin asked, looking confused.
"You do!"
"You do what?"
The Goblin King's eyes glowed as he prepared for his dance number.  He saucily said, "Remind me of the babe!"

Maybe eventually letting us make soft cover books without the damned wood!

the only two things i'd want as of right now:

1) book-covers added to the tailoring list (bwah ha ha).
2) the wood-type to matter for something. right now there's a difficulty range, but there's no reason to not use super soft woods as opposed to, like, haeleio.

inks are cool, but unless we're typing, i don't think fonts is the right word.

handwriting would be a better word for it.

although it would be amusing for painting or drawing to be used for handwriting quality.
