was hunting in kamos when it occured to me
to ask about the first rt you get when disarming,
what exactly is the rt for telling us we're attempting to disarm
a box when you have to actually enter a command to do so?
This strongbox has been rigged so that pressure will cause small venom-tipped pins in a series of tiny holes to extend forward and poison the unwary.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
The distinct whirring sound that barely emanates from a greyish-green gridgun with black accents informs you that it is ready to fire again.
>
You feel fully rested.
>disarm strong
You attempt to disarm the trap on a shabby ocia strongbox.
Roundtime: 14 sec.

This strongbox has been rigged so that pressure will cause small venom-tipped pins in a series of tiny holes to extend forward and poison the unwary. Knowing this, you carefully apply some gaoun putty to the surface to fill and cover the holes. The putty quickly expands and hardens, allowing the trap to be triggered harmlessly.
Roundtime: 18 sec.

just curious, because the extra rt eats up alot of hunting time when you do boxes in the field

The RT is actually broken into two sections, a pre-disarm-result RT and a post one. If it were a single RT it would still be the same length as these two RT's combined, we just split it for cosmetic reasons.

any chance the rt's could be reduced for agents or a specifically set
level of skill in security/disarm?

Trap RT's are reduced for Agents (20%).

any chance that the roundtime will get lessened like mining did?
*still remembers 50 second mining* ::shudder::
or maybe picking through the trap with enough skill?

i know this isn't the right answer to give, but you might not want to be playing with things on the combat field Razz

um right Yaru because the alternative is to get burdened down with a buncha boxes and get killed anyways.Out in bfe yaaaay.

you're talking to the wrong person if you want to try to get the sympathy vote for burden issues you're having. Wink

just get two or three boxes, leave the area, disarm them, and reenter. it's not like it is a huge amount of effort to move over a few rooms.
