Suggestions:
* Custom painting/embroidering/etching: We can finally have things personalized. Artisans can paint/embroider/etch a proper surface with whatever people what to have written with a character limit. Things that can be done: Clothing/soft and hard containers (anyone should be able to pick up a brush and write things, though...but an artisan could do it more interestingly). Metal can be etched....name tags, ID tags, metal containers, weapons, etch.
* Portraits/Trading cards: Hiring an Artisan to paint trading cards or portraits of people...or even landscapes. It'd be like photography only more...painty. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I'm not sure if Valla has it officially listed on her plate or anything, but I remember Arden talking about your first suggestion from the first week or two of the game opening. So, I bet it's in the works somewhere... it's just low priority right now.
The second, eh. I'm not a big fan of there being 'trading cards' of players. They'd be far too commonplace within a couple of days of the release. And it would be like having a trading card of your neighbor: why would you want one?
Landscape paintings, on the other hand, would be nice.. but they'd be kind of pointless until we have homes to display them. Or a painting gallery, I suppose, with a rotating stock. Or maybe you'd have to submit the painting for judging. Oh well, I'm sure Valla and anyone else that works on them will come up with great stuff.

As for the player trading cards, there wouldn't need much trading to be going on, as everyone would just go to an artisan to get a card of the person. _________________ >ask librarian about books

I see PCs as being the 'cool people' of the world. There are all sorts of civilians that are boring...no one cares about them...running around Llanfair all the time. The PCs are the special ones. I was also mostly thinking of trading cards to be for performer types. When Zamde makes it big, I want an autographed card with a picture of her on the front and her bio on the back. I think trading cards are just...fun! _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage
