Hiding. The stamina loss when hiding has been killing me lately, when I'm at full stam, it's been anywhere from 4-16, usually being about 6 or 7, then having when I attack, unless I sit there and wait for it to get back up, it puts me at usually around the high 80's, which is when I start getting it. Even when I'm in a room by myself, hiding takes the same amount of stamina. It makes it like, super hard for me to hunt at all, since I can usually only hunt through ambushing first.

I hunt from hiding also. Feel free to contact me IG or on IM and I'll try to help you out with some advice which will make your hunting easier.

after the mangling it took from regular slashing instead of ambushing i managed a critical hit!

please explain how ambushing benefits me as a combat agent when all it seems to do is drain stam and make my kill ratio slower?
Stills brought it up earlier the issue with ambush damage and i have to agree with her, since becoming an agent ive ambushed less then 20 times
it's a waste to me and a disappointment.
other then that combat is fuckin groovy Trevor nice work!

Ambush directly modifies the damage you do. Each body area of a player or npc has a damage capacity of 75 points. After this, the area is completely gone/destroyed. Well before 75 bleeding begins.

Ambush does two things:
1. Doubles the damage done to that body area.
2. Adds 10 points to your damage score to that body area.

So if you would normally score say 3-10 points of damage with ATTACK, you'll instead score 16-30. That's a heck of an improvement.

However, high armor / resist targets will cut a lot of this down, as they would any other attack.

Even if the traget isn't suprised? Or would that fall under the high armor/resists?

The extra damage only applies when you succeed in surprising the target, otherwise the attack does normal damage.

My problem is Knock Downs and Hitting too Hard. plain chiths just hit too hard for their level. They are suppose to be 3rd from what people have told me? I'm 4th level Mage with 10 vitality, which is actually a good bit for a mage I think, and without me gulping down health potions the whole time I'm out there I'd die a lot. They knock me down in 1-3 hits easily. Usually 1 or 2 hits to the same spot leaves a bleeder and a stun. Sure I don't use armor, but I don't see how I can be dodging them one minute and then 1st hit I have a bleeder. I think your ability to dodge/parry should factor in as to how much damage they do, and if it does I'd hate to see how fast they'd take someone out who couldn't dodge them part the time. So thats my 2 cents worth, take it or leave it.

The levels for critters, I think, should be thought of as a standard for more combat-oriented professions. Since they can triple defenses and more of their stat points are allocated toward combat stats (vitality, strength, agility, perception, coordination).

I think you can add two or three levels to the "critter level" if you can't triple your chosen defense. Or if your stats aren't setup well for that defense (news 16).

chith hit hard because they have weapons.

critters that have weapons are always more dangerous than critters without, just because those weapons are some damn dangerous things.

Heh I hate that monster. Fucker has 4 arms!! He can land an 8 hit pummel which usually reduces you to a bloody pulp on the floor of his cave.

This is probably not so much the case any more since unarmed attacks for critters (bite, etc not like kick) were fixed. Previously they were doing like 1 point of damage.

A few suggestions, since the poster doesn't use armor: Armor Aura spell if you have it (or even get someone to cast it on you), physical resist potions (esp. vs the kinds of weapons being used against you, agility potions (and coord if you use parry/shield). Also note that parry is slightly more effective than evasion against parryable attacks.

armed critters still do a lot more damage than natural attacks, at least for the critters i've fought. for example, noabi scouts land critical strikes to me, but dindle beetles have never hit me for over strong (the average is normally weak to light).

uh, but don't up unarmed attack damage again, please. Embarassed
