Oooh, the joy of these things.
Hey Drake, you know how we get to repair cybergear and we need all the junk to do it with? Well, instead of just storing the sealing kit in the toolkit, couldn't we just put the different kits inside the toolkit...then we should 'repair <stuff>' and have the toolkit utalize the stuff inside without us having to do all the mess of taking it out and such? Like lockpicking kits.
Oh...can maybe a little consistancy in repair. I can 'repair my chip' but I have to 'repair my regenerator with my toolkit' for it to work. It's just a little annoying when doing scripts. |

Electronic repair kits repair specific items, just like the other types of repair kits.. if you want a container to store them all in, you just have to buy a pouch or backpack. ;D
I'll see about modifying that repair verb though, consistancy is nice. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

but for sewing kits you can put the thread in the kit and the kit does the sewing. I think. The electronic repair kit is a container. I was just thinking we could use it like a toolkit....so long as you have the gear you need inside, you'll take that out like a wrench and repair the item. |

thread is only for when you want the item to be "a blah blah blah stitched in color thread". The kit is usable all by itself. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Yes. What I'm saying is that when, say, you need to use sealant to repair a limb, typing REPAIR <LIMB> uses the sealant in the kit. That way you don't have to take out the sealant, REPAIR <LIMB> WITH CASING KIT, put it away, get your computer, REPAIR <LIMB> with TOOLKIT...
It's not THAT annoying, but repairs take from 20-60 seconds each blip, so I script it because I have better things to do then watch the screen. It was just a suggesting to have the toolkits work like lockpicking kits. |

Hmm..that seems kind of weird to me. Maybe because most of my interaction with the general populace comes when I repair their stuff. Not only do I enjoy watching the screen as I repair, I also kind of like having to get everything out separately. Just hitting "repair <thing>" until it got fixed would be pretty monotonous. I do see the logic in working it like a lockpicking kit, but then again, I always figured..the lockpicking kit doesn't work empty; the toolkit does, being a seperate repair tool in itself. I think it's weird that you can stick things in it, actually..I keep all the parts in my pack, heh. |

I've always seen the kit as being filled with tools. Toolkits are just containers. |
