While I'm okay with the new combat changes, I noticed it's pretty impossible to hit a bodypart you aim/shoot at anymore.

Because critters don't die from arm hits and the like, the fact that it's also pretty hard to hit chests these days is what really makes hunting so annoying for me these days.

When hunting borkin warriors and marmaduke berserkers, I just can't hit them in the chest, and that's how I was usually able to kill them without just constantly spraying them with ammo.

These are the stats I tend to hunt with:

coordination: 75 (87)
perception: 50 (60)
mentality: 70 (7Cool

marksmanship: 108

I know that other people are having issues with needing to use excessive rounds of ammo (for pulse and marksmanship weapons) because it's really hard to hit the chest and other vital parts these days.

As for an observation, I don't know if it's from me gaining skill or new stats or what, but I'm able to fire off a lot more rounds before feeling fatigued.

As far as I'm aware, nothing has changed regarding your chances to hit a body part you aim at.

What's likely the issue is that you're using a multi-shot weapon, and each successive shot is much less likely to hit the target.

I'm never landing a hit to the chest with my first shot either, though.

I'm assuming that now that the calculations to land a hit/do damage were altered, that where the damage was done ended up somehow being affected. I know I'm never doing chestshots anymore, though.

I can second the statement about accuracy on specific locations. Hasn't changed at all. It's intended to be far from guaranteed, else kills would be a lot quicker and critters would be at a huge disadvantage unless we made them start going for the vital spots only too. Wink

That's just it.

I used to hit what I targeted parts a lot more often. Now I'm not. I can understand the logic behind why I'm not but I was wondering if it was intended to make hitting specific areas so hard.

Heh, yep. I love my freakishly unbalanced character.

I can train most of the stats I focus on super fast.

7 per coordination
8 per perception
8 per intellect
9 per mentality

I made my traits when I expected to use intellect more than mentallity, but then I discovered my love of psionic abilities. Wink

I'm big on playing the number game.

Then again, as a tiny frail child raised to be an artisan, he shouldn't exactly focus on those other stats, anyway. Wink

Heh. I train everything and Jadda have penalties in everything but strength, vitality, and charisma. ::sigh:: Oh well. I still function quite well in just about everything I'm trained in. In combat, it helps that Dante is a tank too...

Yeah, but I'm assuming you're a higher level than Yaru. :p Then again, I assume everyone here is at least two dozen levels higher than me, heh.

I never intended to make Yaru a combat oriented character. He was always meant to just sit around in town doing artisan like things. The only problem was that I realized many of the artisan things got boring really quickly and many of them still needed to be tweaked. Rather than sit around whining for the GMs to fix the things that possibly only I would want to do, I went out and started hunting (while occasionally lamenting about Artisan stuff, heh).

That, and society made Yaru violent. Too bad they only gave him violent mindsets and not the actual means to fully accomplish them. Sad
