There could be a residential section on a small military base. Apartment style housing is a maybe. Well, a probably, as long as the "apartments" are smaller in size. |
The troopers are creepy and with the DataStreams stuff and the connection to the government, maybe the trooper compound could extend UNDER Llanfair and maybe connect somehow to the palace. That would be fun. Then there could be more space for officer's quarters and other 'topsecret' stuff I wouldn't be able to guess about. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

By that token, Troopers should get their own cyber clinic too Seriously though, in all honestly, I think there are plenty of NPC healers around Llanfair for you all to take advantage of, but I'll give it some thought. _________________ God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

The ER is very close to the compound...It kinda seems like overkill to have so many hospitals. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Well, given that my town has both a military base clinic and a regional hospital, it's not that much "overkill". The base's clinic handles the mundane things and refers everything else to the hospital. They might have an ER, for any horrible on-site accidents, but I think that's the extent of anything surgical they do. Though, I'm aware that a lot of military bases have full-blown hospitals.
But, what I'm getting at is, is that it's not too horrible for the Trooper Headquarters to have a little clinic of its own. Preferential treatment is never a bad thing, either. Though, I would hope they'd be of a lower caliber than the actual hospital's NPC (maybe they only heal minor wounds and poison).

I don't know if these places have an ER...but there's a hospital in the Jaddan, in the Darju AND in the Eolai sectors. That's four hospitals in a very small city.
Edit: I just checked out the Darju hospital. Yep. ER. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Which is why I said that there are plenty of NPC healers about. The reason I added the part about considering it is that when the changes to healing go in, I might consider adding a triage center to the HQ depending on what is offered by the other areas and what is fair to the Medics. So for the moment, nothing is going to be added. _________________ God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

jade is very creepy. and very top-secret. this is evidenced by her willingness to partake of (and even express fondness for) some of dorothy brauers daily specials at the trooper mess-hall. clearly, this is no small feat.
jade usually doesnt even bother to seek out a medic and does first-aide instead. she doesnt have any particular need for an npc trooper healer, but it would add in a sensible way to the roleplay of being a trooper. personally, id be dead if it hadnt been for the various military hospitals and medical coverage the military provided my family.
neither for a trooper-specific npc cybergear specialist. if any tech player would like to make the offer, though, feel free. ill probably be getting jades cybergear re-installed to go with the old story: she lost her hands permanently in combat.
my guess is that apartments would be for standard account holders, so again im out. but i agree it would be a neat option for other troopers.

::sniff:: The cyber tech should have them when he comes back. It's painful for a tech-primary player to see all the cool tech gear that troopers have and not be able to play with it too. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Heh you guys just got gadgets. Trooper is a combat primary profession. It would make sense for the HQ shop to carry new pulse weapons. We also specialize in Pulse, I know techs do as well but as I said before, we are combat primary. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

But pulse still is a specialization of techs, as you said. I need to get my gadget parts somehow and I really would love some new pulse weapons too. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Maybe I can definitely say that there will be some new items when it reopens.

That's not really Eoleon's cup of tea, he doesn't deal in weapons only cybernetics. I know that Techs are gear oriented too, but part of being a Trooper has always been that they have access to specialized gear. _________________ God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.
