I looked at this and found a math error in how max sale prices for poison commodities are calculated. It will take some time for the market to recover to max but poisons will sell for much more now, given some time for the market to improve.

The following modifications have been made to poisons:

- The max sale value of poison mixtures on the commodities market has been increased and the market will climb for these mixtures accordingly.

- Poisons may no longer be mixed by characters who are neither an Agent nor a Medic. Poisons may still be used fully by other professions, however and the Poisons skill continues to enhance one's ability to apply poisons.

- Non Medic, non Agent players who have invested skill points in the Poisons skill at the time of this update may use the SKILLS POISONFIX command to revert all trained points in Poisons to unused training points.

in the wake of the other changes, which were great, id like to know if poisons skill will help a non-agent/non-medic detect poison on a weapon, food or drink. if not, i would like it to. this seems of as much practical interest to any person as any other (e.g., soldiers, who would have interest in chemical and biological weapons), is more of a 'defencive' right-to-know issue given one is familiar with poisons, and seems appropriate if one is able to apply poisons to an item by using poisons skill.

thats right, he did, but not in detail. which is why i asked if 'used fully' meant being able to detect. i would assume so, but id like confirmation from him Smile. the application of poisons is one thing, the detection of them, another. i wouldnt mind if some poisons were more difficult to detect than others, but chances are if they form odours or strange colours in the vial, they will reveal it in the things they are applied to. its also strange to be able to apply poisons, thus knowing theyre applied for at least the duration of one message, but not be able to notice it on an item later on.

I believe what Jade is asking for is this:

Regular player, no poison skill. Non-Agent or Medic:
You are unable to determine if it is poisoned.

Medic with high poison skill:
It has been treated with the The Black Vial poison.
You are unable to determine how much longer the poison may last.

Agent with high poison skill:
I believe are able to determine HOW MANY uses left on top of what type of poison it is coated with.
By your best guess, the poison on it will last for another 242 to 246 uses. Etc.

be changed to or altered in a way for non-Agents to see:
Yes, this weapon is poisoned or No, this weapon or drink or food isn't poisoned. Which would be helpful for any profession (provided they train poison high enough)

that is precisely what i intended, hannah. thank you. Smile if its already possible for any profession to become aware of whether something is poisoned, then theres nothing to be amended. but if not, i felt this discussion was a great time to get such a change enacted, and to again make it clear to everyone what poisons skill entailed. if someone hit me with a poisoned item, i would feel the effect, but if im carrying something that is poisoned, i like to know before using it. this will also affect whether i invest in learning poisons.

Actually, anyone can see it's poisoned, but you can't tell what poison unless you know the mixture. Since anyone can still learn mixtures but not actually mix them, you can still identify even the type of poison if you wanted, regardless of profession.

I thought you needed appraisal in addition to poisons to see the number of doses?
