This is melee range. The messaging is different because there are times when being at melee and five steps away is different than being at melee and one step away, and you won't stop advancing until you're one step away.

When using stealth attacks with the new engagement system at the sparring grounds, one doesnt need to get to melee before using them, can just stalk and ambush\hamstring\blackjack without having to advance at all.

Something is wrong with stalking, you dont even get the confirming message now you just have to pay attention to the icon on the icon bar at the top of the wizard.

I've fixed a bug that was causing the engagement system to run at about 1/3 its intended speed.
I've also lowered the base speeds of everyone a bit.

When we gonna get a tech only combat maneuver? YOu know, something really fearsome since we are so combat intensive.
Like:
Arakaweii aims at you with his pulse gun
You sneeze at Arakaweii causing him to fall on his back
As Arakaweii desperately fires two shots that miss you by a mile, he expertly fixes your comm and notices your cyber arm needs repairing
By the way, you still got beat by a girl

I dont seem to know when to do that..explains getting beat unmercifully in the sparring grounds last night...not like I didnt ask for it

Maybe we can tinker with cores and make super ultra powerful death cores of doom and...other nasty stuff.
Hahaha! Come to think of it, that would be pretty awesome, designing our own pulse cores.

The base mechanics for polearms are now live (polearm weapons will be able to attack from ranges further than melee at the sparring grounds).
In addition, Guardians using Light Meditation will be able to hit from pole range with most unarmed attacks.
